Thank you for trying Nigerian foods and being respectful and open minded about it. We love seeing people try our food. The egusi is made with melon seeds that’s what gives it the texture, it’s grounded. I think there are similarities between Asian culture and African culture when it comes to food. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

The Egusi soup is made from grounded melon seeds.And it has other things added to give it rich taste grounded crayfish, ogiri(natural monoamine oxidase),and other spices. The ogbono is made from grounded ogbono seeds with tripe, stockfish and similar ingredients in the eguai

lavashak isnt meant to be a fruit roll up the traditional way of how its meant to look like would be similar to honey the western world have taken a cultural dish and turned it western just like pizza and dried fruit doesnt make lavashak taste sour its the pomegranate sauce that does but dried fruit on its own is tart not bitter

the grittiness in the egusi soup is from egusi gourd seeds and it’s kinda like a pumpkin/melon and the seeds are ground into a fine powder so when they’re cooked that’s what that texture turns into

Pounded yam and egusi is the best dish of our local food and jollof rice that is so delicious combined with fried plantains

We use palm oil to prepare all our soups,the color/texture depends on the leaf,grain,seed or stock you add to it

1. The egusi is made from grounded lemon seeds, that where it get its "gritty" texture
2. I dont know the ogbono seeds in English so i cant say😭
3. The puff puff is more like a dessert(please dont dip it in soup😂🙏)
4. If you want an appetiser, you could goat meat peppersoup or chicken or catfish
