Great Bird! I’m city folk, and spent 20 years figuring out how to hunt the 2 legged bad guys. I’ve seen so many deer, Turkey, snake, mountain lions, bobcats, a few camels, emu’s, wombats, kangaroos….I been everywhere man, I’ve been everywhere, but never hunted for food. I’ve fished for food, but hunting growing up as a slicker, bunnies, pheasants, quail, but honed my rifling skills killing river rats about 2 blocks from my house on the Muddy Maumee River. This Yawt Yawt show was great, and since I just walked in from work on midnights at the combat center, the best way to hunt for turkeys is watch my favorite hunter shoot a nice Tom for Sunday diner.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us it took me back to being around 10 years old and going to Belfast Market to get our Christmas Turkey then carrying it home some 3 miles on my back but my “Blessing “ was ? That it had already been plucked ,but I still had to help my dad clean it out remove quilts and singe it over a tin of Methylated Spirit before cutting round the knees (not through)before pulling the ligaments out over our Kitchen door ,I then had the pleasure when it was dark and time for me to go sing at Midnight Communion in the Church Choir to take its innards legs and Head on its final walk as I would dump it into a swamp area for the Varmints to have “Their Christmas Dinner “😂Thanks for the memory of around 60 years back !🐗 🦃 🙏🎼🎵🎶🎶🎶🤵♂️🙏☘️🇬🇧🇺🇸

You're so right we take the most simplest things for granted our homes for one we just came out of homelessness January of this year ,we take one day at a time even though we're still struggling to get fully back on our feet and hopefully we won't end up living in our car again there has been so many times to where I've just wanted to give up but something has kept me going I find your videos a great inspiration and encouragement please keep us in your prayers that God will provide us some relief financially so we can fully get back on our feet I know times are hard for everyone but I know everyone can pray so please keep us in your prayers and keep the videos coming God bless you

Awesome video and great bird. Persistence was key to harvesting this turkey. It’s crazy how many times we have success when we least expect it. My biggest Tom, I took after being skunked and on the walk out. From the time he gobbled till I dropped him was less than 3 minutes. I barely had time to find a tree and post up before he was on top of me. He went behind a small tree and this allowed me to get my shotgun up for the shot. He was 10 yards away when I flipped him over backwards. He was coming straight at me! I never got a chance to call only find a tree drop and shoot. Just a crazy time! Good hunt Mr. David. Been chasing a nice Osceola long beard here in south Florida for a couple of weeks now. Ground dragger. He roosts in same tree but flies down and heads off. Passed on several younger gobblers so far, but when I figure out where he's heading he's done for.
A fine bird and only 2! Very nice!. The map was a handy addition. Really helped to lay out the land and the stalk. What I never understood is, if turkey season is in Spring then how did the Pilgrims have turkey for Thanksgiving? lol
Great job hunting down that turkey. You do a lot to increase the turkey population. I am an old man. Where I grew up as a kid we hunted rabbits, qual, pheasant and doves. There were no turkeys. Now, in the area I used to live they hunt turkeys. As you showed it's not easy to hunt turkeys. Several years ago I was visiting my parents and it was turkey season. As pulled into town by the highway near the Chevy dealer there were three turkeys strolling along the highway.
Well all that hard work paid off well young man! Always good being up early in the day, heading for mud and water is a natural draw for you David! Least now you also know where to return for a fine #60 hunting bonus. Nice looking bird, only half the morning shot, must be beaver trapping for the afternoon hours lol?? There is sure to be a video of the finished product, setting up nice on a dinner table, celebrating a good day's adventure. Nice Bird!! -Bob...
What a pleasure to see the hunt and harvest. Your stewardship of the land and wildlife is to be appreciated and admired. I assume you will be keeping the bird and feeding your family. If you do, how do you dress and prepare the bird? By the way we live just outside of Boston and could share some pictures, from my backyard deck of turkeys and deer. We have had up to 14 birds and another time about 6 deer wandering frequently, 2 decent bucks. I am guessing 8 pointers. They must know they are safe here in this crazy state but I was tempted try to lasso them. Lol. Thank you, take care and God bless.

I thought for sure you were gonna blast one of them hawgs David, and then I recalled something. You were out huntin' turkey. No way you were gonna blast a hawg and shake up the gobblers. I know you will get your 60 one of these times. Probably get more than that. Great hunt you two had. Congrats on getting a turkey.
Shame on me but I fed about 75+ wild turkey and about 15 deer every morning thru the winters for a couple of years. Sure was fun. They got used to the Terrier running along thru to keep up with me. Fun to watch the Turkeys head for their nightly roosts across the road in tall trees. Easy to find the mounds of turkey poo... Funny how the deer were great at jumping inside the fence just not so getting out. Had to open a gate for 'em. Some of the turkeys too. They'd get frantic if left behind. I have pics of deer and turkey eating from the same bowl. Turkeys will chase off deer. Satiated turkeys would sit right by the front door where it was sheltered. All 75... What a hoot. I even had a wild Peacock walk in and eat out of my hand. He'd wait on the porch railing for me...Mr Peacock was somethin'. I guess we're not supposed to feed wild critters...oh well.

Congratulations! But I missed the dry heaving and meltdown😂! I laugh because I had the same issues, deer and turkeys! It leaves with age. Loved seeing the white hen!!

I thought for sure you were gonna blast one of them hawgs David, and then I recalled something. You were out huntin' turkey. No way you were gonna blast a hawg and shake up the gobblers. I know you will get your 60 one of these times. Probably get more than that. Great hunt you two had. Congrats on getting a turkey.
Shame on me but I fed about 75+ wild turkey and about 15 deer every morning thru the winters for a couple of years. Sure was fun. They got used to the Terrier running along thru to keep up with me. Fun to watch the Turkeys head for their nightly roosts across the road in tall trees. Easy to find the mounds of turkey poo... Funny how the deer were great at jumping inside the fence just not so getting out. Had to open a gate for 'em. Some of the turkeys too. They'd get frantic if left behind. I have pics of deer and turkey eating from the same bowl. Turkeys will chase off deer. Satiated turkeys would sit right by the front door where it was sheltered. All 75... What a hoot. I even had a wild Peacock walk in and eat out of my hand. He'd wait on the porch railing for me...Mr Peacock was somethin'. I guess we're not supposed to feed wild critters...oh well.
