chris stewart in this video kinda reminds me of andrew mc carthy in pretty in pink, when he's explaining to Andie how he asked someone else to prom but forgot, they make the same face -- takes me back in a fucking weird way, as if he invented the 80s sound then re-gifted to us in this era, feels amazing, thank you.
Woods has skyrocketed into my top ten favorite songs of all time, and I'm 40 years old so I've heard a relatively large amount of music. That song is just incredible
Their Immaterial album was the theme of 2019-2020. My senior year in high school that went terribly wrong, but even in the midst of that, me and my best friend at the time confided in this album. It was arguably one of the most beautifully devastating years of my life; wouldn’t trade it for a single thing. I intend to get the silhouette of the person on the cover tattooed on my arm to hold that piece of my life forever close.
They sound significantly better in a live mix. The vocals are way better in this setting than on A Different Arrangement, although I am happy with the mix on the recent material. Also the Juno and Jupiter 6 really cut through in this recording, showing their gorgeous character. Really phenomenal sounding stuff.
I always loved the way the vocals almost blend into the back on the record, like they're being used more in a way to accentuate the atmosphere than being the focal point.
If you LOVE Depeche Mode you will definitely LOVE these guys. I just looked them up because they are playing LIVE at Cruel World Festival May 14 & 15 2022 I Pasadena California ❤❤❤ I can't wait!!
Actually was thinking the same thing! 2 of my favorite bands to listen to bands are Joy division and New Order and these guys remind me so much of them. I cam across this band at the Seattle airport at the Sub Pop store. Wish they would tour the east coast closer to Canada I would love to see them live!
@@carlosrai6084 Yes, me too. It's not a bad feeling though. And I'm not stuck in the moment in currently. However it make me think about skateboarding and hanging out when I was younger.
si vienen, de hecho no faltaría, seria perder algo tan importante, mira nada mas esas influencias que se maneja a la vez innovación, es asi mismo influyente
Maribel Moon low stage volume. Sing in low register. Good amount of reverb with short decay. Really short delay with one feedback. Some sort of modulation (chorus phaser flanger) with a slow rate and looowwww mix. The biggest thing is the low stage volume. With that you can do almost anything to a vox mic with no weird feedback issues
6:30 I'll atone, run the settle miss? Out of tune from this seldom-ness? Olive tomb womb, that's ever missed? All with doom, room disheveled mess? Auto tune whom this settlements? Ought'a two, rune this Evan mist?
The guy recording must have ADHD. His shooting is so strict and sharp. Try to remain still. Don't move as much. Or maybe move a little slower and zoom in slower.
4:30 is why he wears the bass. Many of the songs do have bass parts but on the ones that don’t he still wears it to create ambient noises higher up the neck periodically. It’s subtle but has a purpose.
I remember i had seen these guys a few years back. I believe 2020? Or 21?. It was here in LA. The crowd was god-awful. Besides the main crowd in front, all sorta slammin and jammin out with each other. The rest we're very pretentious stuck up posers. No offense, it was mostly women for some reason. ALOT of women. maybe it was just bad timing? The girls next to me had free tickets like the bunch next to them. All a similar story. They didn't know the band but their friends couldn't make it so they took up the offer. Can you imagine that? A bunch of drunk women at a show who aren't there for the band? Jesus if you had accidentally bumped into them like how i unfortunately did, right away they'd give you the most dirtiest look and say" im gay" or "I have a boyfriend" . . Dood. . . It sucked but atleast i still made the best of it for myself. Got loaded quick as i could to eaze the tension i was feeling. 🚬🥃🎚️📻🎵🧲🫀👍

I dream of the day I can finally catch these guys live. Black Marble is the best thing to happen to dark synth music in the past 10 years!

He's wielding a bass that's crying out to be played. Coming from a fan that seent em live

Black Marble and Drab Majesty live would be so cool!

Black Marble, I love you. No one gets it, but I do.
We get it!
no one gets me like his music does fr
I feel this music like skating alone at a hot sunset ^^
I totally feel you man. This cuts through me, through my past years. Good, bad and in between. Driving alone with no place to go.
more like walking under a tunnel in a dark cold winter evening.
Thank God for TH-cam so i can appreciate a live rendering of this song.

I'm so glad I found this band...it's made the wounds of 2020 seem so much less so. I've been having the Immaterial album as my night wind down ritual

Woods is such a great song.
Yes
The vocals sound better here than on the record, you can't say that about many bands. More emotional than it already is
well noted
yeah but they're way too loud
vocals are much better in this set than on the record
No the fuck they don't lmao
Caught these guys in London. Incredible
I'm very happy to see their music. I will go to live someday! Sorry for poor English.
I understood you perfectly! I hope to see them live someday as well.
Elegante banda, lástima no saber antes de ellos, me he perdido varios años de su música.
I'm in love 💜
All of it.

I'm fairly certain that A Certain Arrangement sounds that way on purpose. I've always thought so anyway.

Jennifer Mckenzie I wish so too. Ironically, they started in Brooklyn. I guess the west coast changes people.

Saw them opening the second day of Grauzone festival this year. They were great
Black Diamond would be a good name for these guys too.
Can they ever come to Nigeria?
Yes. God Willing
Amazes me this band isn't as big as the planet Jupiter, but maybe not everyone spent the 1980s as a gloomy teen

WUUTTT???????? UK???????????
Anyone knows what effects the singer use in their voice!?
Doubling and reverb. Little bit of echo here and there it seems as well.
Wondering the same thing...
Last comment makes sense, I was thinking chorus and reverb/delay
it also sounds that it sounds a subtle vocoder

What are they using to sequence all the synths and drums in the background??
Wondering that too
ableton probably lol
MPC1000 actually, its sitting on top of a box of outboard gear in a lot of the videos. Makes me want one so bad haha
