Geschätzte Feuerwehrleute, wo immer Ihr auch seid: Das ist ein Werbevideo der traditionsreichen Ulmer Firma Magirus, damals noch Iveco Magirus. Gedreht im Jahr 2005 an einem Tag, zusammen mit der Ulmer Feuerwehr. Da mussten wir schon ein kleinwenig straffen, ohne dass die Action leidet. Hoffen, das ist uns gelungen? Übrigens ist es das meistgesehene Video unter dem Suchbegriff "Feuerwehreinsatz". Es grüßt das protel Film-Team aus Ulm. PS Leider fehlt der Schluss, aber so ist das halt auf youtube, wo jeder (fast) alles machen kann, was er will. :-)

yes and no: it is true that some ff here don't wear seatbelts. But in the video you see the ones sitting in the front of the truck do wear seatbelts, and nowadays many of our fire trucks have a little bit different seatbelt for the ones sitting in the back: the SCBA-pack (also when already put on) is fastened in the seat itself and thus works as a belt. It is released when arriving on scene

we also get it from rivers/lakes/ponds, but when you don't have enough tankers, or the acces road is only 1 lane so trucks can't pass each other there, that can get difficult - and anyway having that amount of hoses doesn't always mean that you need all of them in one line, but e.g. can use them in a shorter distance parallel to each other, simply disconnecting it at one or two points

yes in some way the bottle holder is integrated in the seat and by that replaces the use of the seatbelt then, I'll send you a link with a picture of such a seat in a few minutes :)

Sehr schönes Video.Interessant wo die Feuerwehr auf dem Bürgersteig fährt weil die Straße nicht breit genug ist, ist ganz kurz zu sehen.
Ist wie das Intro von Emergency (PC) und was sehr eindrucksvoll gezeigt wird, die Ordnung der Ausrüstung - jeder Handgriff sitzt. Und einer sagt was zu tun wäre. Schade das es ein so abruptes Ende hat, der Film hätte ein Abspann verdient.

Tja, der "böse" Bube, der das Video seinerzeit ungefragt (!) online gestellt hat, der hat den Schluss einfach weggelassen. (your vision - is our mission.... IVECO MAGIRUS. Heute: Magirus Brandschutztechnik!) Vielleicht ist der Film gerade deshalb "viral" so gut gegangen...? Wir können damit leben. Die 37 Mio sind auch ordentlich Lob für uns Filmemacher. :-)

@dew474 Die Autos gehören meines Wissens auch nicht der FFW Ulm sondern sind Vorführfahrzeuge der IVECO Magirus Brandschutztechnik GmbH. Der erste Teil ist auf der Ulmer Wache, als die Fahrzeuge ausrücken, der Rest aufm Gelände von Iveco im Donautal direkt vor deren Feuerwache.

(oh I forgot that): blocking roads isn't a big problem, we simply use those small hose bridges (I thought you have those in the US as well?), we have several hose bridges on every Engine/Rescue Engine/Tanker so that traffic can cross the hoses without a problem

we don't have only the small trucks, since we hardly need our big Tankers (which do carry as much water) it's no surprise that they aren't here in the video. The hoses at the rear are 3 inches in diameter. The videos whows that not all hoses have to be connected, at 1:24 the hose reel and at 2:21 the panniers.- Whether the nozzle has to be or already is attached depends on the producer of the ladder and the FD. And yes our FD has tanks with 8800 lbs deep frozen CO²

Zum Thema Flammschuzthauben: Einem Kamerad aus einer Nachbarschaftswehr musste nach einem Einsatz Haut am Kinn transplantiert werden, da trotz Flammschutzhaube am Kinn die Maske geschmolzen ist, als ihn ein Flash-over von hinten überrascht hat.

We use tankers and we can draft water from ponds, lakes or rivers for out rural areas. Laying that much hose causes problems by blocking roads and you have to boost pressure with several pumpers, so it's easier to shuttle water if it's more than 2000 feet.

I seriously doubt that. All their hoses have to be assembled. In the US, our trucks carry more water, more hose, and the hose is larger and preconnected. We can get more water on the fire and faster.

um no not quite: on our hose reels at the back of the trucks are 5 to 8 hoses already conntected, in the hose pannier on the truck 3 hoses are connected, and for the rest we have trucks with 1.24 miles of connected hoses - which we hardly need because of good water supply and a fast setup of the normal hoses. Same with water, foam and frozen CO² tanks, we hardly need our 2600 to 3200 gallone tanker trucks

No your English is just fine. Im excited to have a awnser. I would very much so would like to get a better understanding of German gear. Its so...diffrent to me. I wear a "American" style fire helmet, that resembles what American fireman have worn for years. Full Bunker pants, Jacket, boots, A hood, gloves ect. It just doesn't seem like they are protected nearly as much as even me on a small Dept.

we have a lot industrial complexes around here, many plants (also big ones like e.g. Continental, BMW, Infineon), several universities (also with chemics etc.) and hospitals. Of course we don't use the CO² for the average structure fire or so
Yes it is a great length, but what would you do when you are far off a water supply, e.g. on a farm, or in a forest, and don't have a sufficent number of Tanker trucks to shuttle and don't have a helicopter to bring water?

Meine Meinung! Wir haben bei uns, weil wir dann unabhängig von vorschriften und Fördergeldern waren, auch nen 316cdi als KdoW ausgebaut, ist aber eigentlich genau wie ein ELW. Im Verhältnis dazu hat eine unserer Nachbarwehren einen kleinen Opel Vivaro als ELW :D

Wie dir auffällt, haben nur die leute unter PA kein Visier am Helm. Und das Visier sollte auch zum Innenangriff abgenommen werden, wenn es möglich ist, da das Visier nicht so hitzebeständig ist und bei höheren Temperaturen schmelzen kann. :)

Zu 2: Da gebe ich dir insofern REcht, dass man besser mit Nomexhauben vorgehen sollte.
zu 3: 'Weil das einfach Zeit kosten kann. Der GruFü oder EL kann ja bereits auf der Anfahrt aufgaben verteilen. Gerade wenn z.B. das Objekt bekannt ist oder das Team so eingespielt ist, dass das Ganze auch so flutscht.

yes and no, not in all European countries 112 is the number for the FD, but it still is an emergency number and they'd redirect the call. E.g. in Norway 110 is for the FD, and calling 112 you'll end up at the PD

CO2 is stored as a pressurized liquid in tanks, not "deep frozen". Unless you have some specific industrial complex to protect, you can't use CO2 for house fires.

Die Jacken sind nur noch für TH-Einsätze (z.B. Verkehrsunfall) zugelassen(Alamierung Brandeinsatz). Jetzt muss man die schwarze NOMEX-Kleidung anziehen

Ganz einfach Lösungen:
1.Der Einsatzleiter kann die Jacke anziehen wann er will, ob im Fahrzeug oder davor ist egal, wobei die erste Variante zeitsparender ist.
2. Das Ding heißt nicht Sturmhaube sondern Flammschutzhaube, ansonsten ist das allerdings korrekt.
3. Dieses Vorgehen gibt es eigentlich nur in der Theorie, in der Praxis wird sie so gut wie nie angewendet, da sie zu viel kostbare Zeit verbraucht.

bei 1:08 ist ein kleines Stück des ELW (VW Bus oder sowas) zu sehen, aber der Regisseut hat sich bemüht, diesen Wagen nicht zu zeigen (weil es kein Iveco ist).
