One of my favorite adverts was the X-Army one, I think that's how it was called. Supposedly, after Dr. X's death, an army of robots modelled after him rose. I remember that, at the beginning of the advert, behind the robot army, in the clouds, we could see Dr. X's head, laughing, as if taunting Action Man from the great beyond.
These where so goddamn awesome back when I was a kid. I had the Roller eXtreme one. He either had a glow in the dark jacket or I actually had two. Regardless, Action Man was awesome.
i remember this advert, i had the figure and i do wonder...where the hell has Action Man gone? The only place you can find his figures are at Car Boot sales.
Recipe for Action Man commercial: ACTION MAN, ACTION! Doctor X (something)! But Action man (something else)! - ACTION MAN THE GREATEST HERO OF THEM ALL - (cheesy punchline) X!
I had the Jeep, a chopper and a rubber dingy with outboard engine, also had the scuba diver, he was fully possible. Good times. As I got older we used the Jeep and sat on it to go down my driveway, it lasted for years!!
I had ninja in black suit with spinning hand and police man with dog! Still have them though....one I bought in France in 1997 the other in Greece in 1999!
How did AM franchise fade away ? I swear AM were everywhere I went for solid 10 year. I remember getting Dr. X Toys with Giant Flail and AM with a Moto Bike from Happy meals.
Always wanted one when I was a kid...I finally got one had it for a few days and then my friend knocked him off a wall and landed on the ground and broke xD

Came here because I wanted to know what the jingle actually said since I didn't know English when I was a kid. I always heard "Action Man, for zero hero demand" but I guess all this time he was really the greatest hero of them all
I've still got my Action Men and I'm 30 :) Also have an oldschool G.I Joe figure. LOL it cracks me up how Action Man uses roller blades to defeat Dr X LMAO! Like, of all the accessories and vehicles he has access to, ROLLER BLADES?! REALLY!?! LOL XD
Ahh the memories! Has anyone seen the generals by appleflea - its a stop motion music video set during a nuclear attack starring action man, barbie and loads of other childhood favourites like postman pat and the teletubbies - so worth checking out :)

You are never too old for action man.
I just ordered a couple of 90s Action Men from EBay. I'm going to play hell outta them.
I'm 23.
James Kurker yeah im to for my Sisters son too

They are good collector items right now. Those was really expensive back then as new.
I am from. Switzerland and had many actionman figures as a child I was born in 89
You gotta give Dr X credit, he kept trying.
Speaking of which, did he even get a degree in college? Why is he a Dr?
In the 2000s series it is implied that Doctor X does have a doctorate, he still commits dumb mistakes for a guy that is supposed to be smart, though.
