Hi, EMT here. Those are typical symptoms for the inflammation of a lymph vessel (lymphangitis), very often those symptoms are wrongfully believed to be the sign of sepsis. While this is not the case, going to the hospital certainly is a smart thing to do, as the lymphangitis can turn into a sepsis if not treated. And yes, usually these lines are drawn by doctors/nurses to make sure the infection doesn't spread. Not saying you were wrong, just wanted to add my two cents :)

in Germany there is a difference between the terms "Marmelade" and "Konfitüre" and apparently only jam made from "Zitrusfrüchten" (which includes lemons, limes, oranges and stuff) is allowed to be marketed as "Marmelade". Jam made from other fruits, like strawberries etc. has to be called "Konfitüre" - if i´m not mistaken. and maybe it also depends on the added amount of sugar too.
