When you get up in the night to get a drink you might feel a draft. I'll be sitting in your kitchen having milk and cookies while enjoying the beauty of your Christmas Counters. Love it! I don't have my fairy lights this year still waiting on them no tracking number and new seller their stores closed No items showing up. It's been 10 days but I still have hope we will see. Always love your displays. Just found the Homeco Santa for $2 and the Homeco Snowman for $1 at Goodwill on Saturday. Those glass containers are probably late80s or 90s. I know the Carlton Glass containers were sold empty to fill with cookies or candy for gifts.

I loved the large decorative display of milk glass on top of the cabinets the painted wall does set them off to advantage and the patterned clear glass serving plates in the window. Also the gum drop candy tree and glass tree with ornaments were charming. All my best wishes for your holidays!

Hi Dot! Merry Christmas to you and your family too! Thank you for watching this kitchen video! So nice to hear what you enjoyed seeing. I've always used Testors enamel paint that I buy in tiny bottles. It's easy to mix your own colors if necessary when you have the basic ones. Norm just bought a whole new set for me that included the thinner or brush cleaner. I used to be able to find the single bottles at a local hardware store but typically we have to go to a hobby shop where you can buy all the individual colors or probably at the craft stores. Just make sure you buy the GLOSS ones if your ceramic piece is painted that way. They have semi-gloss and flat also. It's very difficult to read on the bottle that it is gloss--it is so tiny and only shows GL before the color. It's very durable but I don't typically end up washing these collectibles again after painting them. They aren't sitting out long for holidays--just dusting occasionally. Others have asked this same question. Thank you again for your sweet messages! It's been wonderful having you for a long distance friend!❤️ God bless, Peg and Norm too
This is just what I needed tonight! I started my decorating yesterday. Worked all day & late into the evening on it, but ran out of steam. Today the last of shopping to do. Even one quick stop at a thrift store ; ) finally home I melted into my comfy chair thinking Oh I gotta finish decorating. Seeing your beautiful collections is just the motivation I needed. Peggy I agree with Norm ! All that weight on the cabinet. My husband said let Norm work some magic on those cabinets lol I had a friend who had all her China in a cabinet and boom it fell, she was so upset and had a horrible mess to clean up. Beautiful tour as always have a Blessed Christmas
Your ice lip pitcher collection is amazing. Just curious, what is the value of some of the pitchers? Do you thrift most of them, or do you “pay-up” because they are something you collect? I absolutely love all of them you showed but the one with the big poinsettias is my favorite, or maybe the Victorian with hearts. 😍
Hi Jodi! Thanks for watching the video and writing to me. So nice to hear that you like the pitchers. We find some thrifting, but mostly in antique malls. Mostly out of town we are luckier to find something new. We both like them, so Norm even picks out ones to buy ;-) If we find one in good condition for $15 to $18, we think it's a steal. They are more likely to be an average of $25. Some of the bigger shops we frequent, like in Red Wing Pottery Place in Red Wing, MN, there are many, but at $35!! We know they are HTF, so yes, we have splurged. They are getting more expensive on the auctions each year. It's awful to pay for shipping on top of it. The ones with ribbed tops are by Hazel Atlas and the plainer top ones are usually Anchor Hocking. Thanks again for your support and have a very blessed Christmas. 🎄🙏❤

Hi 2 Dog Vintage! Thank you for watching this Christmas video. I'm sure that I'm using seasonal dishes and some table decorations more on a normal Christmas when I've entertained my siblings. I use vintage tumblers and coffee mugs and plates that are in our cupboards. I often use my vintage Pyrex for baking. I use decorative Christmas dishes for candies as shown or serving cookies. I hope that is helpful to imagine. Lots of vintage kitchen collectibles don't have good paint on them and therefore I wouldn't want to wash them much. That is probably the way things are with other collectors too. The older and more valuable items, you just want to preserve, of course. Hope you have a great Christmas! Sincerely, Peggy

Hi Cindy! Thanks so much for watching this video and writing to me! I just fill in small chips, if any, with Elmer's glue because it runs smooth. Build it up slowly with thin coats. Then I use Testors small bottles of enamel paint in gloss finish, if the item is gloss. They have flat and semi-gloss too. Hope that helps. The egg head salt shaker repair didn't turn out well because I tried an epoxy glue and it wouldn't smooth out. I can eventually sand it down a bit and repaint again. Hope you have a great weekend! 😊

I remember those ceramic softee deer from art classes in the 80s. they were very popular. i've found a couple of the cat "softees" and repainted them.
