They pulled the twist twice already. The franchise only has one "good guy" organization you can play as, and you can only do the same twist so many times before it becomes predictable.
I mean, it didn't get an entire cutscene like at the end of the first game, but the entire second game was getting at the agency being responsible for everything. The freaks were failed attempts at creating agents, the weapons implanted by the Agency were designed to subjugate the populace, and by the end the charismatic scientist who led the Cell captured a small part of an Agent for use in cloning some to combat the Agency. It's pretty cut and dry, honestly. This all out war against manufactured threats has always been about deploying increasingly radical tactics in an attempt to install a police state. And then the third game rolls around and it's about wrestling with a collection of corporate entities that pose a threat to the totalitarian authority of the Agency.

The Cell are a collection of the poor and destitute who suffer as a result of the dictatorship, who are led by said scientist and are trying to take back control of the city and topple the Agency.

OH SHUT THE FUCK UP! The games changed WAY TOO MUCH. The First three Kingdom Hearts Game were so good because the story was about Sora and his friends. Kingdom Hearts had alot of charm especially in the first three games where it actually felt like a Disney/Final Fantasy Crossover. Then came Xehanort,then the time travel,Sleeping Worlds,Power of Waking,Union Cross,Master of Masters,Black Box,etc. These things were ruining the franchise. KH3 is somewhat similar to the first two games because Disney is given importance again but the problem was that it focused TOO MUCH on Disney . It took many elements from the shitty BBS,DDD games and combined it with the KH1 and KH2 elements so it is still better than BBS,DDD but still not as good as KH1,CoM and KH2.

I remember reading articles years ago about how the consoles playing this game were going to connect as a sort of distributed system to make calculations for realistic destruction. Later there was some BS about using the power of Microsoft Cloud. In the end the destruction in Red Faction Guerrilla, a game from 10 years ago, still looks much better

And a sniper rifle, used to be you could snipe a baddie from a much higher position and you'd get one agility point from it. I also miss the quacker.
Oh man. I remember that boss. Kept getting wiped out every time I tried. So I got creative and scaled the building and jumped in through the open roof, glided to a perch I could stand on up there, and rained explosive hell down on the jerk well out of harms way because no one in the dev department programed a “aim all the way to the ceiling” logic gate into the AI’s code. It’s shocking how gratifying it was to cheese the enemy to death like that, when it was a massive Dark Souls brand boss fight in their own right.

Yahtzee just inspired me on how to explain something to people: I'm currently at new job. I'm meeting several co-workers who are fellow gamers. They ask me what game I'm playing ATM. I tell them "Rust". They've all never heard of it. I tell them, "ummm... It's a survival multiplayer game..." I try to think of how to explain Rust's particular style of this, and can't think of anything that'll fit a brief description, so I just say it can be 500 people on a map at one time and leave it at that. No. Now I have a brief summary. I think it's great: "I play Rust mostly. It's a survival sandbox with up to 500 players. Everyone builds a town together, but everyone is a drooling pychotic asshole. It's a lot of fun."

If I’m honest, I’m fairly certain that the twists were followed up, both of them. Cell is practically none existent, the Agency is now a _global_ peacekeeping force rather than a _local_ one(which was their goal in Crackdown 2), and virtually everyone, including anarchists and megalomaniacs like the leaders of Terranova and Echo, the leader of the Resistance, see the Agents as the only ones who can foil their plans/save the day. Mind control isn’t always as overt as one might think(for those not privy, the beacons and conduits you activated in Crackdown 2 were actually built with two purposes: destroy the Freaks, and help power up a massive mind-control device atop the Keep, the agency’s headquarters. It was set off at the end, and now it’s virtually impossible to keep the agents _out_ of any city or nation)

As someone that loves to play crackdown 3 (campaign) this video is extremely on point and fair. I still play the game but for the fun factor, just like the old crackdown, plus the dev team is working on bringing updates and fixing the game, so im just glad the game turned out like how i expected it, it will be trashed at reception but ultimately turn into a good game with a cult following. Also do a vidoeo on DMC5 its very much the definitive dmc game imo, i still play 3 but 5 is where its at

I remember a time when the term "sandbox" used to describe a giant sprawling playground for you to fuck around in such as Just Cause, Prototype, Saints Row and Red Faction Guerilla. Nowadays, sandbox games have become so homogenized that they're either divided into Rockstar-type of games that focus way too much on detail and realism or Ubisoft-style games that make you feel like you're checking boxes off a list instead of doing something the developers designed with some actual effort. Has this simple idea of fucking around for fun become obsolete or have sandboxes simply become, dare I say, boring?

I sat down to play Crackdown 3 on Hard and finished it in that sitting. I did have some fun but I only finished it because I knew I'd never relaunch the game. Do not pay for this game, however I'd say give it try if you have gamepass and want have a bit of mindless fun.

Easy money for Terry Crews. Billed as the headliner, took a whiff of the script and knew he was the opening act for one so bad that he couldn't possibly bomb worse.
No i also remember Crackdown 2s weird finale. Im pretty sure everyone who worked on Crackdown 2 quit doing games or at least quit doing them for Microsoft cos its pretty clear they didnt remember.
I enjoyed it. I put some music on and burn like two days. Albeit, i wouldnt have bought it if I need too, but it was on Gamepass so I had nothing to lose. If you go with that mentality and liked Crackdown one, its a fun game. At least for me.
Well one of the points of the crackdown series is that the agency is bad and there sending you to destroy anyone who would want to take down the agency
To be honest if you get the game pass for either 10$ or 1$ like I did Crackdown 3 is a solid game. It’s one you play in quick bursts when bored not something you marathon. Play it like that and the gameplay is just as satisfying as 1 was back in the day.
I saw crackdown 3 as a large scale vergion of Lt. Surge's gym with all those damn force fields. seriously though, force fields inside other force fields, could they not come up with another mechanic?

Cell is practically none existent, the Agency is now a _global_ peacekeeping force rather than a _local_ one(which was their goal in Crackdown 2), and virtually everyone, including anarchists and megalomaniacs like the leaders of Terranova and Echo, the leader of the Resistance, see the Agents as the only ones who can foil their plans/save the day. Mind control isn’t always as overt as one might think(for those not privy, the beacons and conduits you activated in Crackdown 2 were actually built with two purposes: destroy the Freaks, and help power up a massive mind-control device atop the Keep, the agency’s headquarters. It was set off at the end, and now it’s virtually impossible to keep the agents _out_ of any city or nation)

Just do crackdown 1 again but fix the stiff controls. It's difficultly curve and structure are unique still. Others have tried and failed to duplicate it's simplicity and effectiveness

As someone that loves to play crackdown 3 (campaign) this video is extremely on point and fair. I still play the game but for the fun factor, just like the old crackdown, plus the dev team is working on bringing updates and fixing the game, so im just glad the game turned out like how i expected it, it will be trashed at reception but ultimately turn into a good game with a cult following. Also do a vidoeo on DMC5 its very much the definitive dmc game imo, i still play 3 but 5 is where its at

I remember a time when the term "sandbox" used to describe a giant sprawling playground for you to fuck around in such as Just Cause, Prototype, Saints Row and Red Faction Guerilla. Nowadays, sandbox games have become so homogenized that they're either divided into Rockstar-type of games that focus way too much on detail and realism or Ubisoft-style games that make you feel like you're checking boxes off a list instead of doing something the developers designed with some actual effort.
Has this simple idea of fucking around for fun become obsolete or have sandboxes simply become, dare I say, boring?

I sat down to play Crackdown 3 on Hard and finished it in that sitting. I did have some fun but I only finished it because I knew I'd never relaunch the game. Do not pay for this game, however I'd say give it try if you have gamepass and want have a bit of mindless fun.
Full disclosure, I respect you, Yahtzee. It might be because we're about the same age and are similarly jaded with most modern gaming...but I believe it's your honesty.

I enjoyed it. I put some music on and burn like two days. Albeit, i wouldnt have bought it if I need too, but it was on Gamepass so I had nothing to lose. If you go with that mentality and liked Crackdown one, its a fun game. At least for me.

To be honest if you get the game pass for either 10$ or 1$ like I did Crackdown 3 is a solid game. It’s one you play in quick bursts when bored not something you marathon. Play it like that and the gameplay is just as satisfying as 1 was back in the day.
I saw crackdown 3 as a large scale vergion of Lt. Surge's gym with all those damn force fields. seriously though, force fields inside other force fields, could they not come up with another mechanic?
