**Song #09**- Planet Number Seven, Uranus
    Lyrics
{} - Lines only from before Pluto was declassified
[] - Lines only from after Pluto was declassified
    Planet number seven, Uranus
    Lucky number seven, Uranus
Little was known about Uranus 'til it was visited by Voyager 2.
(Now we know it is orbited by rings and 15 moons.)
[Now we know it is orbited by rings and many moons.]
Uranus has a strange axis of rotation.
It's parallel to the planet's orbital plane.
Now, that's a weird revelation. Yeah, that is really strange.
The ring system of Uranus has 11 thin rings
Composed of small dark particles like rocks and other things.
The whole system extends out about 16 thousand miles.
The outer ring's the largest; it's 62 miles wide.
    Planet number seven, Uranus
    Lucky number seven, Uranus
(Uranus has 15 moons. Listen up, and you'll learn them soon)
[Uranus has 27 moons. Who knows? We may find more soon.]
The largest five moons are farthest away from Uranus. Let's say their names:
Oberon, Titania, Umbriel, Ariel, and Miranda.
The diameter at the equator is almost 32 thousand miles.
Since it's twice as far from the sun as Saturn, orbiting takes a while...
About 84 Earth years, for Uranus to get around,
And that orbits almost circular from a careful study we've found.
    Planet number seven, Uranus
    Lucky number seven, Uranus
A liquid water, methane, and ammonia ocean may be near,
Beneath the hydrogen, helium, and methane atmosphere.
Three hundred seventy-six miles per hour winds blow with power.
Affected by rotation, which takes over 17 hours.
It gets so cold, there's an outer layer of condensed methane.
We know this from the color and from using our brains.
You see, the methane clouds absorb red light,
Which makes this planet look blue-green to our sight.
    Planet number seven, Uranus
Other cloud layers lie below the methane layer.
Ammonia clouds, then ammonium hydrosulfide clouds are in the atmosphere.
The last layer of clouds that we know exist
Are made up of water ice say the scientists.
    Planet number seven, Uranus

Ah memories. The percussion goes pretty hard for an educational song.
