Habs fan and been for since i was born. Fun fact.. Lehkonen was the guy fans wanted to get rid of for years... It was everywhere, in radio shows, newspapers.. Fans calling radio host and go ''Lehkonen is a leech.. he doesn't produce and yet, coach keeps giving chances to play the PP .. Get rid of him, exchange him vs a 4th round pick for all i care'' etc.
      Who's laughing now ?
I swear, MTL fan base is toxic. The pseudo-experts voice their opinions and the organisation gets the pressure.. and then, they take poor decisions. Look at what happened with Droin vs Sergachev ? We didn't have enough french Canadian players so we taded Sergachev for Drouin... What a joke !
Just glad, this time, we resisted the pressure and we waited to get a good value for Lekhonen.. but seing how he played in these 2 last playoffs, especially this one, maybe we didn't get enough.

I'm with you on ticky tacky calls, especially in the playoffs and more so in the Finals...but there was THAT one that was the one that should've been called...and trust me when I say it's NOT because of the goal...I'm a bigger fan and a man than that. This victory by the Colorado Avalanche is for the fans who have stuck with the team through thick and thin. It was literally the Avs versus everyone. The media, other fanbases, haters and trolls constantly attempted the Avs to doubt themselves. From "Now, they are facing a real goalie" to "Mackinnon doesn't come through when it matters", the Avs silenced their critics with their vision and resilience.
The road to the cup was challenging. Injuries was always a factor. Flaws kept re-surfacing. Despite all these challenges, the team prevailed. Here are some notable moments of the season:
    - Starting the season with a 4-6 record.
    - Losing to Columbus in a home and home series in the same fashion: giving up the lead in the third period.
    - Outscoring their opponents 36 to 15 in their six game winning streak (November 11th-24th, 2021).
    - Losing embarrassingly to the Leafs 8-3 with Johansson behind the net. He was later waived in the season.
    - Losing to Ottawa in OT when the Senators held the worst record in the NHL.
    - Reminded the Leafs who they are after giving up a 4-1 lead to the Avs and losing in overtime.
    - Set a NHL record in points for the month of January (15-0-1).
    - Kuemper went on a 4 month stretch where his ERA declined consistently.
    - Set a franchise home winning streak record with 18.
    - First loss when scoring first on March 8th, 2022. Lost to the Devils after blowing a 3-0 lead.
    - Gabriel Landeskog became a Jet killer with 7 goals and 1 assist in 2 games. He had hat tricks in both of those games.
    - In the trade deadline, Joe Sakic made his move by acquiring Josh Manson, Andrew Cogliano, Nico Sturm and Artturi Lehkonen.
    - Cale Makar roasted the Predators in the first round of the playoffs with 10 pts in a 4 game sweep.
    - Nazem Kadri lives rent free in the Enterprise Center when he scored a hat trick in game 4 against the St. Louis Blues. This was after he received death threats in social media.
    - Darren Helm helps overcome the Avs' demons that has plagued them for the last 3 years by scoring the series clinching goal on the road against the Blues with less than 6 seconds to go.
    - The bottom six, led by JT Compher, torches the Oilers in special teams and forechecking.
    - After Kuemper suffers an upper body injury, Pavel Francouz came through in the clutch as he helped the Avs sweep the Oilers. This includes a dominant game 2 shutout.
    - Artturi Lehkonen sends his team to the Stanley Cup for the second consecutive year by scoring the conference winning goal in OT against Edmonton.
    - Andre Burakovsky's experience against the Lightning comes to play as he helps lift the Avs with an OT goal in game 1.
    - The Avs destroys the Lightning with a 7-0 win in game 2 and credits Kuemper with his first playoff shutout for the season.
    - Cale Makar scores a SHG and PPG in the same period in game 2 against Tampa Bay.
    - Kadri's redemption tour continues as he scores the OT goal in game 4 against the Lightning. This was his first Stanley Cup game after he came back from a thumb injury he suffered from Evander Kane.
    - Lehkonen scores the Stanley Cup winning goal to gives the Avs a 4-2 series win.
It was a very memorable year, Avs fans. We may have differences on how we want the team to improve. However, it is not enough to divide us because we have a common goal. It is to see the Avs win the Stanley Cup. It doesn't matter how it is done as long as they find the way. They found that path yesterday.
Enjoy your summer, Avs fans. I know I will
