This is a Fantastic interview! The interviewer asked great questions , really listened to what Luke said (adding relevant follow-ups) and - most importantly - didn’t interrupt Luke when he was speaking! So kudos to the interviewer. This was also the best interview with Luke that I’ve come across. I know his work from Hallmark movies, (which helped me get through the pandemic) and I had wondered what he is like as a person since he has played such nice guy/supportive roles. It is such a pleasure to learn that he is really down to earth - and I love that he listens to country. He is right about Garth Brooks as a singer, a person and a family man (comments from another interview). And last - most important - I’m glad that he gets to be in a romcom as a gay man: both for himself and for all the people still in the closest. The clips for the movie look great so I’m hoping it’s a huge success that really helps his career as well as offering support to closeted gays who live in non-supportive environments. We all need role models to show what is possible. PS I’m one of the 70 year old heterosexual fans of Luke.

What a nice, practical down to earth bloke. I loves Bros. Loved the performances, loved the story; just loved. Identifying as middle aged Gay myself, it resonated at a deep level for me. Great work, great actor, keep it up "bro"
Totally agree!! This movie, stories, soundtrack and Luke Macfarlane are keeping going round and round in my head after seeing the movie at cinemas last week!
I have loved all the interviews Luke has done alone to talk about Bros. The interviewers have asked great personal questions. Luke has answered the questions honestly. He has been my favorite male lead in Hallmark movies. Hallmark makes him look great. He always has great scripts. He always has great females to work with etc. I am a born again Christian since February 27, 1971. I treat everyone with kindness and respect. I like to share my beliefs.
Yes, I enjoy his solo interviews so much more than those that he did with Billy Eichner - who always hogs the spotlight and who is, frankly, annoying. Luke is so charming and such a breath of fresh air.

I am the cohort just older than Luke. I was dropped by my agency after they found out I was gay. All the casting directors (some of them also gay) were calling asking about my orientation - some to flirt, others to "make sure", as I was hitting some notes that str8 men tend not to in auditions. After a lifetime of hell, from childhood onwards, I said "fuck it" and became a cabaret accompanist (no one cares who the pianist is sleeping with!). Marketablilty is what it comes down to. In theatre school we are taught to be artists and to mine our own existences for emotion and sense memory. In reality, we are commodities to be sold. It comes down to your face, your body and your voice, and, if you are the "romantic lead" type, your perceived (and, in the eyes of the public, your "attainable" ) sexuality - whether on a poster on your bedroom wall or just in the fantasies of the buying public, is paramount. I remember the afternoon my agency called me in and sat me down to talk about it. I was told to no longer be seen around the gay part of downtown, or to go to discos or basically have anything resembling a life. I was 25 and had just graduated, moved to the big city after a life growing up on a farm in a remote rural location... here I was FINALLY in a place I could be myself and start exploring adulthood, and being cut off at the knees by my agent and manager. If that happened now, I could sue for discrimination, but those laws were yet to be written in 1989. I'm glad that Luke was able to break through that barrier. I was not. Am I bitter, Barbara Frum? Absolutely.
Dear Jesus, how oh how is this gem of a man (Luke) not married??? Why hasn't some other great gay guy swept Luke off his feet? With every smile, the man breaks hearts. 😘❤🌈

I watched so much Brothers and Sisters because of him and him coming out then made all the difference in how the Kevin/Scotty storyline was portrayed. It lends it some authenticity - well, as much queer authenticity you can get away with on an ABC show in the mid aughts. He was also absolutely adorable in it as well.
Luke was perfect, but they should have cast someone else instead of Eichner. Imagine how much better it would be with Adam Sandler or Steve Carrell, etc... in the Eichner role.

It's so sad that the film is such a dismal failure. 22 million to make, and opened at the box office only making around 5 million. It won't ever come close to breaking even. They'll be lucky to find ways to push the revenue up to 7-10 million. I wonder what went wrong.
I think a better script would have helped...... better dialogue that would make the audience CARE about the characters. And more humor. And better music. And replace Billy Eichner with another actor easier to care about, such as Neil Patrick Harris.
