Her values and morals are that that I was raised on back when self respect ,morals, values and family meant something . Even though Heidi and Spencer are still together 10+ yrs later I ask at what cost. How many relationships in her life are genuine now a days?
this is what happens when you get married young.. spencer was partying, clubbing, he was spoiled being a trust fund kid, so him treating other people bad, was a norm, the lifestyle he grew up in... Heidi grew up poor compared to spencer and brody...she would have been good if they met and waited... the key here was not getting married young lol...spencer would not have sought revenge for lauren exposing him talking to other girls if he was in his 30's... marriage at a young age is dangerous at times.

The scene actually wasn’t fake. They knew this would be filmed but the conversation was completely real. Lauren and Heidi’s friendship was real and everything they went through. This was two best friends watching their relationship come to an end. Quite sad.

I feel like some people still want to hang on to the belief that this show was real lol! I LOVED this show when it was on and am still fond of it but most of it was completely fake especially by this point in the show. I’m sure this conversation between Heidi and Lauren, if not scripted, was definitely planned.

It’s crazy because that phone call never happened. It was the focal point of the episode. It was Spencer doing something really huge for Heidi. When Spencer said that after he left the Hills, it was all fake, I was so disappointed

it lowkey hurts rewatching this! i loved Heidi on laguna beach and during the hills i always held out hope that she and Spencer would break up so that she and Lauren could reconcile. when your true friends can't get along with your partner, it's a reflection of your partner. not your friends
I wouldn’t place all the blame on Spencer or the partner. This was a reflection of the bad friend and person Heidi was to allow all of that. She purposely set Jen up with Brody to take the heat off of her. She wasn’t a good friend and the entire situation exposed that so it all worked out for Lauren.
Even if Heidi and Spencer have lasted for all these years, doesn't mean that Heidi is happy. Because obvisouly she left friends and family who knew what was probably the best for her happiness and her own selfworth. Something she can't see in herself without Spencer. I don't know any of the detailes really, fans probably know more. But seeing someone go down a rabbit hole and leaving behind the people that mean so much is truly devastating.

1. If a "man" dictates who you can/can't hang around with RUN. He is toxic and the main goal here is to isolate you from your friends and family.

Same with what's on Amazon Prime now. It likely has to do with the music rights expiring (these shows are all 10+ years old now). Or the rights limited the music to TV broadcast only.
I watch DCC on YT and all the music is different than the aired edits. Probably same issue here since they aired so long ago.

I REALLY needed LC in my life when I was making crappy choices
So I read an article that lauren was actually into spencer in the beginning but spencer liked Heidi which started drama, then the producers basically told him to play the bad guy to further draw a rift and he went overboard by lying to the press about her sex scandal. He later said he felt he needed to go crazy for the ratings to beat jersey shore and so much was fake and everyone else said it was all fake drama. But this tv show ruined a genuine friendship they had by producers turning on them and starting rifts. It was such a sad article
Idk about the Lauren actually liking Spencer thing if that was true she would deny that till she was blue in the face and take it to her grave LMAO. But I highly doubt that but what I have heard and do believe that what provoked Spencer to start sex tape scandal was Lauren did make Heidi chose. When Heidi chose Spencer Lauren didn’t want to be friends with Heidi anymore and wanted her and Spencer’s fired. Heidi didn’t care because she loved Spencer but he was such an attention whore and his controlling side of Lauren trying to get them fired. And Heidi to leave him so he wanted to throw shade twice as hard back. Heidi I guess is resentful because she didn’t throw Lauren under the bus back then for that. Two bad reunion shows didn’t exist back then LOL. If they did a reunion show every season Lauren probably would have quit after S2. Cause I’ve noticed she can’t handle being called out. I loved watching the hills and all I know it doesn't play on MTV anymore but still the best shows it was and still my fave show before I got into watching Jersey Shore and Keeping up with the Kardashians

Just a few short years later and Spencer spent all of their money. Just a few short years after that and he's an absent, alcoholic father who still controls his wife and spends all their money. Great choice, Heidi. I hope she finds the strength to leave him someday.

Honestly the way lauren is acting in this confrontation is way more mature than the way she handled it at the beginning. The way she acted at first was controlling and not healthy. She could have handled the situation alot better. Also her realtionship with jason while it was abusive like Spedi is. She her rapid disaproval drove Heidi away. My biggest issue is lauren always acts like she right but she never take resposiblity for her actions. I don't think she is a bad person i think their is good in her. But she needs to take some resposiblity for her actions yes the show is scripted but getting angry saying a boyfriend is a sucky person is not a way to handle an abusive realtionship. She should have been calmer and said what she did in this scene. While it would not have changed much and maybe Heidi would have ignored it. It would have been healthier for their friendship.
I think the reason she might have been so angry about Spencer is she was just out of her own relationship with drama, unhealthy patterns and some abuse. I wonder if Jason hasn’t just ended like that if she would have been so strongly, confrontational about Spencer. I do wonder if the sexy tape rumor didn’t come out if they could have worked it out.
But as soon as Spencer lied about the sex tape and Heidi stayed with him, I am all the way team Lauren.
I remember this scene very vividly and to find out that it was fake just tore me up. I was really hoping that the 3 of them were on the road to becoming friends again, even though I was not so much a fan of Spencer at that particular time and I was a bit irked by Heidi’s sticking by him and being his little puppet. I had really high hopes of a genuine reconciliation.

It’s not about jealousy at all. Lauren has seen it right. When I watched The Hills I watched it from further on in the series; only times after that I started to watch the first season and WOW what a difference Heidi 1/Heidi 2. Heidi 1 was bubbly, fun to be with and she had a good brain! Lauren was right, the real Heidi slipped away. It’s really rather sad.

I don’t agree. Heidi was an adult & was free to choose whoever she wanted to marry. Perhaps, Lauren didn’t like her partner because of everything he did to her, it is understandable to dislike him for what he put her through. That’s fair. But Heidi was in love & Lauren should should have just let her go & not get so involved. Sometimes you have to allow friends to make mistakes & learn on their own. Heidi is the one who is still happily married to Spencer & she has reconciled with her mother & sister. Lauren didn’t know what was best as she was a child herself.
Lauren’s hair this season was gorgeous. This, her signature style then, and the color just is gorgeous on her.

Honestly back then I was always on Team Kristin and always found Lauren boring and weak but now that I'm 30, I can honestly say that I get it. All I want is to be like Lauren Conrad, have a quiet and peaceful life, with only a few real friends who have my back and stay out of drama. I really get it now.

Watching Lauren now, I feel like after so long into the show, she just grew and had a different mindset which is different from when she started the show. Removing herself completely from the show and everything that revolves around the show was probably what was healthiest for her. Truth to be told, I'm happy for all of them. They have all found their own peace, happiness and success.
The scene between Heidi and Lauren will forever be one of the saddest of the all show and one of my favs
agreed. i know there were a lot of fake scenes and drama in this show, but this moment.. damn. and i think lauren really hits it on the head. spencer is/was a manipulative person, who utilized isolation to exert control over heidi. it was always an us versus them mentality. Or if you pick lauren/your family, you lose me. Super twisted, and it's heartbreaking watching lauren try to explain this to her.

Lauren herself told on The View that she wasn't on the other end of Spencer call. It was a fake call and they used footage of her talking on the phone with Adam Divello trying to convince her to go to the wesding because they had already planned on bringing Kristin Cavallari in.

When i used to watch this back in the day i was confused about Lauren and didn’t get why she wouldn’t just be friends with Heidi again but now it’s like years later and I’ve been through a whole abusive relationship of my own and fully have a different perspective and actually really admire Lauren... can’t believe it haha wow
Lauren was genuinely Heidi’s only REAL friend.
Lauren was right when she brought up about Heidi’s relationship with her mum and sister and how she was this incredible person who lit up rooms and Spencer destroyed it all. But if the fact that Heidi lost all her friends, lost her mum and lost her sister couldn’t wake her up, nothing would.
This apology by Spencer was the only decent thing we ever saw him do. And I’d well believe it was scripted because MTV wanted Lauren at the wedding to see Kristen.
I honestly think this drama is real, because I can’t find traces of Heidi’s family on her social media whatsoever
I remember Lauren said on the view Spencer calling her was fake
I pray that one day, I could have a great friend like Lauren. She is very wise and really caring, but very REAL. She tells you what you NEED to hear, not WANT to hear. God Bless her🙏

How crazy would it be to live this and then watch tv and see you have a conversation with someone that never happened? Lol
Heidi came to LA so damaged and disfavored (?). In one of the first episodes - "I never got what I wanted for Christmas, my sister did." Everything was driven by vanity - find a boyfriend who adored her, find a new face people would envy, shun people who didn't, be the center of attention at parties, transact dignity to become a reality star. It's painful to watch.
