Hi, is it possible to use hammer spring and hammer / striker from Dominator 16J version, and only buy valve 28J ? Do you know how heavy is the custom hummer / striker or how heavier is the custom hammer / striker than the original one from Dominator 16J ? Maybe it would need only stronger hammer spring ? You're quite right. The power from 7,5 J to 16 J is possible with only a stronger hammer spring, but:
Walther/Umarex did this job over the opening time of the valve, when the hammer hits the tappet. They use (f.e.: Germany) different Guidance's in the valve housing in combination with a longer and stronger hammer spring. The guidance for the tappet in 7,5 J is flat and looks like this: "--"
in 16 J (12 ft.lb) it looks like : "U"

Here the weight of the two striker/hammer's I have:
I. 55,90g
II. 53,68g + extra weight 3,23g = 56,91g
The long guide rod. is 13,00g and 6,50cm long.
The short guide rod. 9,55g and 4,00cm.

Wieso die drei löcher gebohrt ? Und sind die ventile von der AirMagnum 850 die selben? Denn für die AM 850 finde ich nur das 16j Export Ventil..
Hey ich hab mal ne Spezielle frage an dich ! mit wie viel BAR Luftdruck arbeitet das 7,5er ventil und mit wie viel Bar das 16er ? ich bin mir ehrlich gesagt nich sicher wie viel Luft ich in den tank füllen soll da ich meine mal gehört zu haben das ein 16 Joul ventil mit max 80 bar arbeitet ?

I just got a dominator, but facing an air leak issue :( it seems from the regulator :( any advice which o-ring i should change? My question may sound silly, but i never opened its regulator though... Appreciated

First things first: Questions are never silly :-)
I would recommend that you send the Valve/Regulator unit to UMAREX for service or repair.
You can do the job on your own, but it's up to you.
(take a look at all my videos, it may help you)
Air leaks are quite often a result of not propper sealed threads.
A damaged o ring can cause this too, but I' ve never had one which was damaged.
Try flour powder to search for the leak. It may help you. But clean up....

hey ist es viel aufwand die Dominator 1250 von 7,5 joule auf 28 Joule umzubauen ? bzw ist es sehr schweierig ? das Exportventil mit 28 Koule gibt es ja komplett mit schlagbolzen usw alles zu kaufen

Nein, es ist nicht viel Aufwand. 90 sek. Einbauzeit in den schwarzen Walther PVC Schaft ist machbar. Mit dem Holzschaft dauert es etwas länger ;)
Altes Ventil ab, neues Ventil rein + Schlagstück, Feder und Federführung austauschen... Fertig.
Sorry, aber es muss an dieser Stelle sein:
Du machst dich strafbar, wenn du kein WBK oder Jagdscheininhaber bist und entsprechende Änderungen an "freien Waffen" vornimmst!

Hi mate. Did you sort the problem? I have exactly same thing! I only have 8 washers in mine tho. Just over 3ft/lb. Everything seems right as far as reassembly goes.

If I wanted to upgrade from 5.5ft/lbs to 12ft/lbs for example do I only need to change the valve that can be bought or is more work/adjusting of different components necessary?

You're right. The simplest (and expensive) way is to change the valve unit.
You can try a different spring, guidance or hammer first, but it's up to you...
6ft/lbs more Power without another valve is a tough job to do, bro'!

I would recommended for Cal. .22 :
- 28 J Valve,
- stronger hammer spring + custom striker (one with more weight)
- increase Airtransferport
- enlarge the Valve outlet chamber
- play with Reg settings
1200 fps are not reasonable. Get real or search for supersonic lightweight (PBA) pellets in .22.

If i used 22 or 25 grain pellets in my 22cal walther dominator 1250 so what the velocity i got if i modified my valve
I would say around 10 - 15 fps more with 22 gr
and 8 - 10 fps more with 25 gr (flowmodded Valve).
f.e.:
Walther Dominator 1250 in Cal..22' = Average around 850 fps (manufactur setting)
I. 22 gr pellet and modded valve 860 - 865 fps
II 25 gr pellet and modded valve 858 - 860 fps

1. O ring 8x2 No.: 465.60.08.2 (7,5 -16 Joule) or
2. flat seal No.: 465.65.10.1 (23-28 Joule)

i got intouch with umarex in germany aparently its a very similiar gun but the kits not compatible with an rm8..however ive managed to get just the 37 joule valve not 27 from france and ill try fitting that and see what happens..incidently you can get the valve from america and itll cost you £130..from france £25 but they wont ship to the UK so my mate in belgium sorted it.check his other videos for links to parts sites anton..cheers for your reply mate

just tried the valve i bought,it fitted ok,but it wouldnt even fire a pellet out of the barrel..i think the 16joule hammer is not upto a potentially 37 joule valve..i should have bought the kit,(hammer included)and if the kit is the same valve....they fit anton,i wouldnt worry about..you may know already..howve you got on with it mate??

That's a tough one...
I would recommend for your .22 :
1. 28 J Valve
2. stronger hammer spring + custom striker with more weight
3. enlarge the Outletvalve chamber to max. size
4. increase the Airtransferport (up to 4mm / 4,5mm / 5mm)
5. play around with Regulator settings
You're valve unit is tight? The breech mechanism/ chamber,too? No leak?
With this setup you will get some better results from your gun. But I am not sure that you achieve the 980 fps mark with 25 grain pellets...
Or you can take a look at the supersonic lightweight (PBA) pellets in .22..
f.e. Gamo
Skenco Hyper Velocity Field Pellets (10,8 grain)
JSB Schulz Jumbo RS (0,87g)

ich bin mir momentan noch nicht sicher ob ich mir die dominator im kaliber .22 oder .177 holen soll. Gedacht ist sie für sportliche zwecke, hauptsächlich 50m Entfernung. würdest du mir das .177 mit 28J oder das .22 mit 40 Joule empfehlen?
ich denke das die 0.22 geschosse stabiler fliegen aber die .177 mit höherer Geschwindigkeit und somit geradliniger auf kürzeren Entfernungen.
Vielleicht hast du ja ein überzeugendes argument

Möchtest Du auf 50m Papier treffen? Dann hast Du m.M.n. vollkommen recht und Deine Wahl sollte auf Kaliber 4,5mm ( 28J) fallen.
Wie Du schon selbst sagtest: lange gerade Flugkurve mit wenig Einschlagskraft im Ziel, günstigstes Kaliber, große Auswahl an Pellets etc. Somit klasse geeignet für's plinken auf 50m und vollkommen ausreichend.
Ganz anders sieht es aus, wenn Dein Ziel nicht zwingend Papier beinhaltet ;-)

Nehmen wir mal an das Ziel bestünde nicht aus Papier sondern aus, sagen wir mal anderen biologisch abbaubaren Materialien, wie viel durchschlagskräftiger sind dann die 5,5mm Geschosse? ;-)

ein Wurf mit einer Glasmurmel an Deinen Kopf, bei Kal. 5,5mm wäre es ein
Golfball, der Dich trifft und zum Schluss dasi Kal. 6,35mm, was mit dem
Treffer einer Billiardkugel anzusetzen wäre...Bei 4,5mm musst Du sehr genau Dein Trefferbild kennen und punktgenau treffen, um eine max. Wirkung im Ziel zu erreichen.Mit
5,5mm hast Du ca. die doppelte Fläche zur Verfügung als bei 4,5mm +
mehr Gewicht/Masse, was zu mehr Zerstörung im Ziel sorgt. Wenn Du dazu noch ein paar Polymags oder Metall Tip Pellets packst---> holla die Waldfee !Hoffe, es hilft ein wenig weiter.Peace,OD

Assuming that it is indeed your cylinder which is leaky you can try:
1. emty you're air cylinder and send it to Umarex for repair service
2. direct purchase of a new Compressed air cylinder for Umarex/Walther Sportwaffen by a dealer of your choice

Ich würde Dir zu folgendem Motto raten:
Never change a winning team!
Solange alles funktioniert und dicht ist, würde ich es bei einer oberflächigen Reinigung des Ventils belassen. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, aber ich glaube Deine Pumpe hat sogar einen Feuchtigkeitsfilter für die Pressluft verbaut, was super für ein "langes Ventilleben" sorgt :-)
(Man(n) hat sich auch schon kaputt geputz...)

Und zwar wenn ich dich Kartusche bis 200bar fülle hab ich eine gute Schussenergie, füll ich Sie voll auf 300bar halbiert sich die Schussenergie :( Ich hoffe du hattest das Problem und kennst die Lösung Liebe Güße Micha
