Pretty tempted to read Lone Women….i keep watching people say pretty good things about it. Not normally something I’d pick up but it’s October so it’s the perfect time to get a little spooky
I have All the Sinners Bleed on my TBR shelf...I've really liked SA Cosby's other books and his stories, but this one is a little intimidating to me because of the subject matter. That being said, I still plan to read it--I just need to get myself in the right mindset. I read Lone Women about a year ago and enjoyed it as well. I found it to be more suspenseful Historical Fiction (with a supernatural element) than horror, but it still worked for me.
Oh yes, the subject matter was really tough and I think it is a good idea to wait until you are in the right place for it. Now you have said that about Lone Women I think I would be inclined to mostly agree with you, although I do think the end has what I would generally call horror elements. The middle definitely does feel more like suspenseful historical fiction.
I read the first issue of Saga and liked it. Never read more. I should perhaps read more of the series. My favorite book in September was Mrs. Nash's Ashes by Sarah Adler. I didn't have any disappointments in the other books I read.
The series just gets better and better so I would encourage you to continue with Saga if you enjoyed the first one. I have not heard of Sarah Adler. I will have to check out some of her books. Is this the first one you have read by her?

I would say it is worth giving it a go. Lavalle’s writing style is very nice to read and his female characters are so nuanced.
