Toyota made the sport mode weird in the automatics. If you come to a stop, and downshift to 1 yourself you can go from there. The number you see on screen isn’t an accurate representation of what gear you’re in.
the manual mode on the automatic basically just acts as the maximum gear you want your car to be in. even if you keep it at 4 it’ll still downshift to 3,2 and 1 and shift back up to 4 but it’ll stop there unless you go to 5
nice. i have a 2014 scion tc and all we did was throw a stereo in it so far. ive just been looking around at different exhausts and seeing which one would sound the best to me without being completely obnoxious.
thatGINGER gamer if you want to be able to hear the car but not be stupid loud I recommend just going with an axle back exhaust, they're cheaper than a cat back and ridiculously easy to install
that sounds amazing. i have the exact same colour to with the TRD exhaust installed. If you don't mind me asking, how did you remove it? Did you remove it with the stock exhaust or have something else?
Greg Rocheleau I used to have the TRD exhaust too! But it's just removing the rear section of the exhaust that connects to the long middle section. Don't need to jack up the car or anything, just remove the two bolts, take off the hangars and you're set!
+isnowyazn not anymore! I actually have the Megan Racing cat back now. I'll be making another video for that with my new camera so hopefully the audio turns out a little better!
Hi, so I'm new to cars and exhausts, but I have the same tc. I just wanted to ask is this legal? Also do you just leave the end of the exhaust under the car? Or do you have to extend it somehow?
To be honest with you I'm not 100% sure. I think in the laws it might be "illegal" to make any modification to an exhaust system, but obviously that isn't strictly enforced. That's why most sites that sell exhausts put a disclaimer that says *for off road use only.* But to answer your other question, the end of this exhaust is completely removed. If you look under the car, in the back, the rear section of the exhaust is simply held on with two bolts and held up by two hangars. Unbolt and remove the hangars in about 15 minutes and your done. I only kept it like this for a few days because I was curious and it's super easy to take off and put back on. Hope this helps!
The laws vary state by state. In most states it is required to have a muffler. Doesn't say the muffler cant be empty though. And as for length, most states require the exhaust to at least reach the B pillar
+Exel Media Thanks, I'll do the same! I should be getting the Megan racing cat back within the next few weeks and I'll definitely do a video on that too!
the sound of the airflow and no exhaust can make a 50 hp scion sound like a god damn gtr
Make sure to remove resonator and do a high flow cat. It sounds even better
Sounds way better than most full exhaust systems leak
did you have to drill holes for your rear mudflaps?
JuggernautsFTW yes for the rear mud flaps I drilled two small holes, and used 3m double sided tape as well
I have a question why when I switch to gears in my Scion tC 2011 it automatically goes to 4 instead of 1

i was expecting it to sound awful in all honesty. but thats actually not bad at all.
thatGINGER gamer lol it wasn't too bad but it sounds better with an actual exhaust, I have the megan cat back now, it's much better

***** Awesome! thanks man, i might consider that..probably going to piss my neighbors off but OH WELL hahaha
Greg Rocheleau It actually isn't terribly loud! Only on cold starts and if you're revving it out
***** Well i will sure find out this weekend once i try to do what you did haha
Nick Ciccone how did you remove those 2 bolts. Mine are rusted.
JSR Cars' TC muffler delete sounded much more aggressive and deeper. Maybe it was just cold out.
Maybe! Probably just the audio difference too, this camera doesn't have the best audio
***** That's what I was thinking too! Do you still have the muffler delete? haha
+isnowyazn not anymore! I actually have the Megan Racing cat back now. I'll be making another video for that with my new camera so hopefully the audio turns out a little better!
How is the drone with this setup? Am I gonna lose my hearing on the highway if I do this?
Just muffler? I have 2015.. will it sound like this ?

Thanks a lot! I will probably end up getting a new exhaust someday, but it's good to know that I can easily take off the muffler.

Did you have a check engine light on whenever you took off your muffler?
happens sometimes happend to my dads tC but auto zone turns em off or you can do it yourself
Yes this happened with my tc
That's sounds nice! Where did you cut it? Lol
does this work on 2014 model?
did you still have the cats on?
Chris Proffit yeah I did, this was just removing the rear axle section of the exhaust
Do these cars come stock with a rev limiter like this
Richard Harber no rev limiter, just bounces off of red line
Nick Ciccone oh lol sounds like u have rev limiter sounds good
If it’s an automatic yes.
Yo what part of NY you in? Is that Nassau?
Jesse LZ I'm about 15 minutes outside of Albany!
Nick Ciccone - Dope! I'm in NYC!
Turbo..?
Oh man I wish lol, it's just the stock motor with a short ram intake!
+Nick Ciccone Hm, so do I. Maybe my hearing is going crazy! I subbed btw.
+Exel Media Thanks, I'll do the same! I should be getting the Megan racing cat back within the next few weeks and I'll definitely do a video on that too!
That's more than muffler delete that's sounds full straight pipe no cat or muffler
Richard Harber No sir, cats still on, mid pipe still on, just the rear axle section was off!
Nick Ciccone seriously wow that's sound straight pipe how do u like still
Richard Harber I don’t run it like that anymore but when I did I didn’t mind it at all I liked it
My 2011 stock still sounds like shit haha I haven't done anything to it tho
Couldn’t hear shit the mic quality was awful 🤣
