Jayne, so restatined! Only twelve pens. A very nice lineup; pens and inks. I recently swatched all of my ink samples so now I can make more informed decisions on the inks I put into my pens. I had to take all of the samples out and check the colours previously.

Happy New Year, Jayne ! 🎉 I had a tiny crack in the section of a Sailor Pro Gear Mini which always leaked and it took me a while to see where the problem was. Since I had a cheap Sailor Procolor 500 that I wasn‘t using, I swapped the sections (pulling out the nib first… of course I wanted to keep the 14K one in the Mini;) and now it performs perfectly again. I even like the color mix better than before - it‘s the Zyne Pink that has a white section now… 😊 Oh, and pairing the Cashmere Rose with the pink/white Koloro is such a great idea… I have Monteverde Cherry Danish in mine at the moment, but when that runs out, I‘ll try Cashmere Rose for sure. ❤ Have a wonderful year and don‘t let frustrated internet trolls ruin your spirit ! 😊

I’ll take a closer look at it and see if I can do something similar to what you did and see how it goes. Lovely selections for January. I still have to make my own selections for the month I was excited to see that you had Alaskan sunrise amongst your choices. I just purchased one from Scribepens from Etsy. It's coming from the UK and should be here maybe at the end of the week. I love the colors and reminds me of spring colors and is very cheery. I also have the ivory Lamy. The only issue with that pen is that the body has a little texture to it. I wish it had more of the regular smooth finish. But it's an attractive pen. I do have the E95 on my future buy list. I agree with you that those creators who ink it up say it's a great writer but I often do not see people use it too often. Happy New year!

Hi Jayne, A wonderful pick for January pen and inks. For the Sailor, it sounds like the converter may be the problem, a crack or not seated well and maybe coming off.
@@tawallah77 well I have a cartridge in it at the moment and I had a converter in it last time. I remember thinking that the converter must be broken, but now it’s happening with the cartridge too. I’m going to have another look at the housing later today. This happened with my Platinum 3776 Nice Lavender many years ago, the housing had a tiny crack that just got worse and eventually the pen was unusable. I’m hoping it’s not that. Hopefully it’s just a nib issue. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 Thank you so much for watching lovely and Happy New Year 🥳

Thanks Jayne! Happy 2025 to you. Congrats on your Kaweco Al-Sport - a real stunner! ✨ I considered the Pilot E95s for my first gold nib and I ended up going for a Sailor Pro Gear Slim . I guess the look of the pilot and it's semi-hooded nib did not appeal to me at the time. The E95S receives such high praise and I am glad that you like it. They are really popular it seems. I also have a Pilot Grance (in pearl white, also with an EF nib) which has a solid gold nib - albeit a relative small nib. It is an underrated pen and not very popular in the FP community but I love mine and it is constantly inked with brighter inks

Like you, I wasn’t so fussed on the design of it at first, but it has grown on me and I just love the way it writes. How do you find your EF nib on your Sailor? @@jppenandink You have reminded me that the primary reason for pens is to write - so I will have to revisit the Pilot E95s. I was never too keen on hooded nibs at first but now I am saving up to buy a Pilot VP. Evidently, tastes and preferences change. My Sailor PGS is such a unique pen in that the nib writes like nothing else. It is a rather wet-writer for an EF. Like the one in your video though, I think I need to have the nib tuned because I may have inadvertently applied too much pressure when writing with it at first. The pen was my first gold nib after all and I was new to the hobby at the time and still getting used to things. 🌼 Happy Days 🌼

what a bummer about the sailor. I have 2 Sailor pro gear and 2 sailor pro gear slims and while I like them, they are very particular when it comes to ink and paper. My Pro gears (regular size) are medium bubs and they are almost too juicy and the 21K nibs are almost too soft for me and I feel I have to be so careful. I am always tempted by the beautiful colors in the Sailors, but the writing experience is not my favorite. I love their style, but I probably won't be buying any more going forward. The ones I have are enough, even though they constantly tempt me.
@@impish22 hi Marie, I think you are right, the Sailor colour ways are very tempting, but like you said, it’s a fine balance trying to get the right ink to put in then. I’m quite sad about this Blue Green Nebula PGS, it was a limited edition brought out in 2021 I believe and to have a cracked section or the housing of the nib cracked is making this one unusable. Happy New Year! If your Sailor pen is leaking into the back and front of the pen, it sounds like it might be a problem with the converter. I have had one of their converters fall apart when I was cleaning out a pen. They aren’t made the best and are pretty cheap to replace; then you will know if it is a problem with the pen or with the converter. Don’t worry about offending people because people seem to get offended really easily online because they don’t know the person or the person’s intentions; I am Korean, I have watched you for awhile, and I knew you just didn’t know what language it was and were simply naming languages you could think of trying to figure out which one. From my perspective, it was like you knew it was made in China and was probably written in Chinese but couldn’t think of the word “Chinese” or “Mandarin” at the moment. It happens to everyone.
