Paul Stanley is everything to me. He started as a young boy with deformities and became the guy that all of us that love music wanted to be. Along the way he developed his voice, becoming one of the best singers in rock. The odds of him becoming a multimillionaire from where he began were very long. I just think he should get a hell of a lot more credit for the songwriter, vocalist, and guitar player he became.

    This makes KISS so fascinating.
    Gene couldn't speak English.
But co-wrote "She", a forever song.
Paul was bullied. But his timeless song is now in the "Billion Views Club" on Spotify. Great stories.
    Great band. KISS 💋

Sorry...since when did Doc McGhee have anything to do with anything related to KISS' early days in the 70's? He wasn't managing KISS until the 90's I believe. Why isn't Paul Stanley himself telling us why he became the Starchild? I'd rather hear Paul talking about The Lone Ranger makeup and how Ace helped him come up with the Starchild gimmick. You see...this is why the 4 originals can't stay together long term...no one is keen on giving proper credit to one another for making the band what it is and being a team. I don't want to hear an outsider like Doc talking about the origins of KISS. I want to hear Doc talking about how HE managed the band during the time frame he was involved, namely the Reunion Tour and beyond.

Kiss is on the Mount Rushmore of greatest rock bands ever if you think they're not then you just are hating on them they sold over 110 million albums are in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame a 50-year career and maybe the most recognizable and popular band around the world everyone has heard of them or know who they are by seeing their picture. And half of the rock bands from the 80s and 90s said kiss is the reason they wanted to be in a band.

He wasn't around until the 90s when the band needed him for the re-union tour. According to Paul's book the makeup was just an organic thing it was just something that they started doing without even thinking 'this is brilliant' or anything like that, I think the makeup empowered Gene more than Paul and Paul simply hid behind the makeup not sure of himself but years later Paul was a proponent on removing it which they did in the early 80's. Also ACE had a lot to do with the bands success, Ace gave Gene and Paul the confidence that this is the sound and band that will conquer the world.

Two things. Paul isn't built like a linebacker. And even Gene was skinny back then. So the idea that they couldn't physically pull off a Dolls look is absurd. Also, Doc is using quotes that he took from Paul & Gene. Those are not his own words.

@@billycain9890 Yet he brags how great he is?? Can't be both ur either a great manager or ur not. And it's not Ace's fault for being Ace. Paul and Gene are egomaniacs and suffocated both Ace and Peter. There's no reason they couldn't do their own things and show up at the show and go their separate ways after having nothing to do with each other many bands with conflict do just that. But no Paul and Gene need to be miserable and control everything even other people's personal lives and what they choose to do on their own time.

Bill Aucoin was a great manager. He made KISS great. And Doc is a great manager, otherwise Paul and Gene would have fired him!
Secondly, P/G didn't suffocate Ace. He was sleeping with his face in the food on the table. He was suffocating himself with his 🥃+💉. And they had to find and to pay studio musicians to do his job. What Paul wrote is realistic. Ace likes to play with people's sympathy.

Ace and Peter were functional addicts and P/G could have just left them alone. They always delivered come show time and P/G got studio musicians because they were control freaks and didn't allow Peter and Ace to create how they wanted. P/G were running Kiss into the ground and straying away from rock and the recipe Ace and Peter used to make Kiss what they were. They hire Doc because he is a do boy and took the load off them nothing to do with being great

I was a "card carrying member" of the Kiss Army in the 70's , but when they released Dynasty , I cut that card in half, they were blown off the stage by bands that opened for them like Judas Priest, after 1978 if you went to a Kiss show, you left with the opening band's t-shirt. The period between 74-77 is the only period that matters. Anything after that is weak, contrived, and trendy.

      yup,
I saw them in 1977, on the love gun tour, with Cheap Trick opening for them, and I didn't even know who Cheap Trick was.
Cheap Trick blew them off the stage.
They were high energy, entertaining, and had great catchy songs.
Next day, I went and bought all the whole Trick Catalogue, which were 3 records at that time.
I was in high school when Dynasty came out, and was embarrassed by the disco song, and I hated disco....
