    GREAT VIDEO!!!I stumbled on this 4 months ago on ebay and took a chance and bought it.I put it on several auction cars that were guinea pigs, to see how the application was.I then put it on my 05' CRV 3 months ago.Still going strong, I put 2 coats on it also.Nothing sticks, easy as hell to clean. And a super slick surface....I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

    I use these cheap coatings for plastic trim, fender wells, etc. on budget detail packages that prioritize durability and have been nothing but impressed. But I still had never applied it on paint. I finally decided to coat half the hood of my daily driver out of curiosity..
    That was 11 months ago, and protection is still 95% intact! I still don't use it on paint professionally, but I wouldn't be afraid to.
    I use my own suede towels, blocks and low pile microfiber towels to apply and remove. But everything else about the product applies and performs almost as well as high end coatings.
    Applying coatings is like painting, it is allll in the preparation. If you decon. properly (strip wash, iron remover and/or clay) and machine or even hand polish (use a pure polish free of fillers and sealants), and use a proper surface prep solvent before application, you're going to be successful. You can't assign blame to any protection product if you don't give it the proper surface to bond to.
    Long term durability on paint I still cannot say past the 12 months. I'm seeing about 8 to 10 months on black plastic trim before the color starts to fade, which is very impressive.
    For the money, you cannot go wrong. A great way to ease into the semipro level of coating paint protection with very little money invested.. 👍👌✌

    Just found this video while looking for something to show to a friend how to apply the MR-FIX coating.
    I applied this to my car almost 2 years ago (21 months) and it's still working.
    Not as good as when 1st applied, but still at around 80% of when 1st applied, the "beads" are smaller and take a little longer to go.
    As an example when new water either ran off completely or made large beads, which ran off as soon as the car started to move , now the beads are smaller and more of them, takes around 1-2 minutes driving then all clear again.
    Truely an absolute bargain.
    Would I apply this to a brand new luxury car? YES without any hesitation.

      Maybe you could "refresh" the coating by spraying some spray coating on? I just got a spray coating thought it was ceramic coating but after application it works pretty nice as well, the site says last between 3~6 months so maybe you could use it to maintain your coating every season or so. Just spray on surface, spread with sponge, and wipe off with cloth. No caking or anything.

    9H is not bad at all, mine lasted close to 3 months where I live in California its always sunny so that's probably why it lasted longer and I have my cars garaged. You can also tell that it crystalizes when you apply 3rd layer to it which is good because it will protect your car paint against minor scratches. I would recommend this product.

    Thanks a lot for the video. I am a car detailer and I was looking for a nice coating and cheaper at same time and this will do the job without breaking your pocket. The explanation and the demonstrations worth more than thousand words. And yes I would like to see if you leave an untreated part after a rainy day leave the water to dry out exposed to the sun and see if the treated part will leave some water marks or not. That will be great, or another demonstration could be if you have some mud splashed on the treated paint and that mud dried out so how will that be. It will be amazing to check those situations with this coating. Thanks in advance.

    This is probably crazy but I am literally applying this product to my Tesla right now. 130k car! I’m going to upload a video of the whole process including clay barring, buffing, & Applying it. I bought three bottles for $60 and it seems to be a little newer version than yours but I’m going to put all three bottles on. We’ll see how it goes thanks for the video. And keep an eye out for mine in about a week.

    • @leschar1
      @leschar1  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you use 3 bottles on one car you're doing it wrong. Thin lines, do 2 coats. You won't even use 1 full bottle on your tesla. Let me know how it goes!

    • @vrgs1385
      @vrgs1385 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ThoseDetailingDudes OK thanks for the advice. I just read on Amazon one guy said he had to do like three coats to get it to really beed. I’ve still got to run my buffer over the car with finishing compound which is what I’m doing right now then clean it with alcohol and I’ll get to applying it. Do you think it is safe to use on the glass? Or the chrome?

    • @leschar1
      @leschar1  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tesla Freak yes safe on glass, unsure about chrome. I think 3 coats is overkill, but do 1, buff then wait 1 hour, do the next, then buff. Remember no water or saturation for 24-48 hours. No soap or chemicals for 7 days.

    What you should have done is your initial tests with water and all. But then do a follow up video where you follow the instructions to the letter and not even get it wet for 3 days just to see if it makes a difference.
    Then, its been over a year, do a follow up and let us know if this car is still repelling dirt and water.

    The crazy thing is I get over 9 months of water beading from a sealant like wolfgangs With proper prep. Adding a wax on top of that after it cures I can probably hit the yr mark. I'm at 11 months on one application and the car still is a breeze to wash and dry because of the hydrophobic properties left on the car. Now with that said, this is actually looking to be easier to put on and buff out.

    I did a comparison between this stuff and the F-11 and have to say the F-11 is better all the way around. Easier to apply with not so many steps and feels much slicker once applied. I am very disappointed in the 9H but it won't go to waste as I'll just use it up on my pick up and daily driver.

    I am interested in getting a ceramic coating on my 1992 Camaro Z28. I have some questions if I may:
    1. Do they also put it on the windows and mirrors?
    2. I currently use TOPCOAT F11 and LOVE IT.. But which the shine remains, the slickness does disappear until re-touched up or apply water and buff dry.. It looks like it will cost me around $2000+ cdn to 2-step paint correct, and applying a cermaic coating:
    SLICKNESS remains the entire time or is it like F11 where the shine is there but the slickness dissipates and either re-add more F11 or wipe with water and dry to get it back.. There is a local shop here in Vancouver BC Canada that will do it for $2,000cdn
    Local shops quote: From $2000
    Wash and decontamination
    Up to two stages of paint correction/polishing
    4 layers of Ceramic Pro 9H Glass Shield
    1 layer of Ceramic Pro Light
    Ceramic Pro Wheel and Caliper
    Ceramic Pro Rain front 3 windows
    I am in a LOT of car shows both IN and OUT and I always want the car's slick paint surface to be there as part of the showing of the car.. As a result, I am very curious if the SLICKNESS always remains there or do I have to touch up with some type of detail replenish product?

    The one where it’s on my Facebook newsfeed, which is I think is the same stuff, same name everything, charges $19.99 and says it last’s 2-5 years....I have a hard time believing that. You said you wouldn’t put it on a Shelby, why not? Is it because it’s too soon to tell? I have a Toyota Avalon which isn’t saying a whole lot but I’m keeping it for the long haul, so I’m wanting to apply something that’s gong to protect and last. Can you do another test in about 6 months. Thank’s

    Can you wax the car first before you apply the ceramic coating?

      You need the ceramic to bond to the paint and the paint only. So short answer no.

    First of all you are supposed to use the little applicator thin sponge side to apply the formula then the small towels to buff it out after a few minutes of curing time.
