I'm British and love American history, these are the best metal detecting videos of the Colonial times I have seen, I love the natural history as well as the historical. Great photography too. 🇺🇸
Brad, you are at the top of your game! Your ability to express why your do this hobby and why it is important to discover and preserve history is bar-none the best of anyone on u-tube. This is perhaps my favorite video of yours. Be true to your self and keep it going!
I totally agree with "Across the Plains". Went to bed last night picturing all the beautiful places you have shown us. Especially, those orange mushrooms!!! Can't remember which video that was 'cause I have watched so many back to 2017. Thank you for sharing with us and preserving our precious history.
You have some of the most beautiful camera shots! Your knowledge of the history is always so neat to listen to, keep doing what you're doing, its great!
I am impressed how you figure. Out items you find. The Jaw harp something may have overlook. Grew up with antiques the pegged tables , Secretary, and Cabinets. Had some of those coins to play at myGrandmothers. How the land claims back is what gets me excited as well. Brad thank you once again sharing your knowledge with us. You are keeping History alive for many now and in the future. Amazed in many schools the lack of History of Our Country is not taught much. Stay safe and glad you ate documenting this.
You're so right about slopes. I often find things on them, and the 6 feet leading up to them. Every time you can't help but imagine someone sitting down and resting 200+ years ago. Times change, but when you peel back our technology, and slow down. We find ourselves stopping, and taking a break on that same slope our ancestors once sat upon. Great video and great finds Brad!
As Vermont declared itself an independent republic in 1777 and remained so until it's admission as the 14th US state in 1791, it was more tolerant of loyalists than the 13 original colonies.
Some of my 'loyalists' American ancestors roamed these parts when dealing with the more 'revolting' Americans : ) The 'Haldiman Papers', available on line and free for downloading, contain a great deal of information about Vermont events and residents of the time. Well worth a look if a non-Hollywood history has an interest for an individual.
@@estop4804 - What other channel is as personable and has the same quality as what he can produce? He is very talented in several directions, I'll keep him for my Sherpa and follow him to Kathmandu if he took us there!
Brad, I am a metal detecting you tuber and I could not agree more with the JeepZJ. Your videos are educational and the scenery is breathtaking. Thank you for putting out quality stuff
Great video keep up the good work Brad . Not only do you find really cool relics but your show is also a history lesson I've learned a lot about the the common hard working folk that made our country what it is . Thank you and God bless
Hi Brad, that old copper at around the 8:49 mark you could maybe get paper and a soft pencil and take a rubbing to see if anythings stands out. A very cool hunt, thank you for sharing. x
I found this fasinating... My family landed in Boston in the late 1600's. Later generations moved to Vermont after the revolution and stayed there until the early 1800's then moved to Canada. So it's cool to hear about loyalists in the Vermont area... Cheers.
Whether I go detecting or bottle hunting or hunting Native American artifacts, it's not so much about the finds (though nice finds are awesome!) as it is the actual searching and getting to enjoy a little nature on the way. That's why your channel is so great. Keep them coming Brad. Your a great artist and story teller!
Most of the copper-sized coins ringing up in the high 50s and 60s are colonial counterfeits; I’m pretty sure that’s what you’ve got and it’s a super find. I love those.
At 8:50 you sure that isn't Yankee doodles Macoroni? 😜😂 I love all of your vids by the way and I am now subscribed thank you so much and God bless you and those mountains!!!
If Garrett moves any more AT Pros at Cabelas then there won't be a wheat penny in any public park in 10 years. We don't need any more goddamned TV shows.
Brad, interesting Loyalists button. It has got me to wondering. I see your nostalgia with the stone wall destroyed by the fallen tree with your acceptance of nature making the changes. Great video. You get well. Green Mountain boys are rugged.
So Brad your videos are amazing ..... brings me to how I feel when I am in the woods and come across a place to sit & wonder at the beauty , then I start to wonder how many have sat in the exact same place before me .....
I cannot wait for your videos each week yet we all know that I must and I do ☺💖 Great finds in another great Vermont mountain location. I am so glad I found your channel; you're videos are always great to watch for the history and Vermont beauty, as well as; your great relic finds. Your stills and videography are top-notch. You are awesome at what you bring to us. Thank you 👍😀
Very interesting to see the history between the British settlers and the stubborn loyalty to the Crown . Those old homesteads could throw up some interesting bottles and jugs from that period .Thanks for sharing .
the wall that got hit by the tree had copings still on.although a bit rough. it shows whoever built it knew dry walling skills.even here in ireland a lot of old walls are missing their copings.
I machine tungsten steel for a living, and have little chance of doing what Brad does ! (for now) So I watch these video's of GMMD - I bought the CD of the music, which is awesome ! but the main thing besides all the buttons, - finding all the early coins, has got me interested in these compared to the many years of being a Morgan silver dollar collector, Brad has found coins that I never knew about, like the nova constellation coin, the Ben Franklin coin and many others ! really cool stuff ! thanks Brad !
Hey Brad I love detecting videos, and there's a whole lot of em out there. The reason I choose yours over most is production. The music, the visuals of native flora/fauna and the overall serene aesthetic keeps me coming back.
My Bennington Vermont Draper family had both Patriots and a few Loyalists during the Revolutionary War. Most fought for freedom from the British and the few Loyalists lost their lands and had to flee to Nova Scotia. I was very interested in your story and getting to see both glimpses of the landscape, along what you discovered. Thank you.
We love your videos and can't wait until Friday's to see what you find. My kids said to tell you that was not a jaw harp but in fact it is a 200 year old petrified macaroni noodle. 😀 again thank you for your videos.
I have been watching your videos avidly for awhile now. I just want to let you know what a fantastic job you do. I have my own MDing channel so realize the time and effort you must put in. I have a love of history, and the story is just as, or more important than the finds. Great job!
Well done Brad another brilliant explore, the mountains just seem to keep on giving & getting more beautiful every video I watch of yours, Can't wait till next week Fridays are my fave day thanx Brad :>)
Love the stories to your videos. The history and finds are incredible. I truly enjoy your videos. Being a new england native I find that I am truly blessed to live in such a beautiful area. Have a great weekend.
