Cant believe people hear this and are like “very cool great job guys 👍🏼”. When it’s the single greatest piece of music on earth. I go back to it ever since it was released.
Lyrics As I venture where the sound has led I rest my bones on the frosty earthen bed It numbs my eyes so I won't have to know I've not the strength to survive where you go But a shell still floats upon the wind When you breath my name Please look beyond me As you hang underneath
I can't believe I missed this when it came out. Absolutely beautiful rendition of a beautiful song. I'd love to see you guys do more of these in the future.
That's one of the most impressive quarantine sessions I've seen! How many instruments are you guys playing?! Anyway, so weird to see your songs play live as everytime I listen to one of your record, the music instantly transports me in a fantasy world and I forget that there are musicians behind it (like when you're listening to a movie soundtrack where you're more visualising the movie than picturing the musicians performing... If that makes sense? ). Hope your next tour will pass by Luxembourg (once the crisis is over)
This was great! Just discovered you guys a few months ago. Been going through your discography and it's very impressive. Hope you guys get the attention you deserve and looking forward to future releases.
You guys are literally my favorite band right now. I discovered you with the latest album, but all 3 are incredible. I pre-ordered the vinyl and CD formats of veil of imagination yesterday. Keep being awesome! ♥️
Always great. Ash Memory is my favorite song by you guys! Well, it's a hard competition between The Garden of Fire. But Sleep At The Edge of the Earth is perfection!
Wow. Not sure what to say. In absolute awe at the beautiful orchestrations you guys are capable of. High praise! You introduced me to the dulcimer on "Sleep at..." and it was love at first listen ♥️
Very, very good. I listened to the entierty of you latest album right after this. Completely blown away by your intricate writing and sound. Well played, and well mixed by the legend Dan Swanö. 🖤 Thank you!
How did I only just hear you guys! Your music is quite honestly fuckin epic. The technical way you make music blows me away, so many sounds, so much detail 😍 I love the soft and heavy nature of everything you do it's quite honestly beautiful.
Always thought, whilst listening to the album version, that the guitar used to record this song was a nylon acoustic, instead of a steel string acoustic. Very interesting how the studio ambience can trick our ears, modifying the textures of the instruments. By the way, Sleep at the Edge of the Earth sounds bloomin’ brilliant, love the mixing job on that one, as well as on Veil of Imagination. You’re all amazing musicians. Cheers from Brazil, guys. All the best.
Way too late in responding to this, our bad! I genuinely cannot remember if this part was nylon or steel in the studio... need to go check the archives. Maybe your ears are correct though haha :) Cheers!
@@Wilderunband It’s never too late, my friends. Great to hear from you guys, greatly talented band. It’s an honor speaking with you. Good to know maybe I wasn’t wrong, afterall. By the way, just a curiosity, I’m a huge fan of the band, so much so that I was the #3 fan in the world in the Deezer streaming app to hear the band the most in 2022. So, really happy to talk to you guys. Already cannot wait for the next album, looking very much forward to it. Keep up the awesome work. Cheers from Brazil, my friends.
@@Wilderunband Thank you, my friends, for such wonderful music you have crafted along all these years. Hopefully, you’ll be able to tour around Brazil sometime! I’m definitely spreading the gospel about y’all here. If it ever becomes economically viable for you to come, I would undoubtedly attend. In the meantime, perhaps I’ll be able to save up and see you in North America or Europe in a few years. Kindest regards, my friends!
Thanks for putting this up guys. You have become my favorite new music discovery of the past 2 years. I don't even know where to start and I won't try.
So cool to see all the instruments in this video, i've spent most of my morning Googling strange bowed instruments to figure out what Wayne was playing and I am currently going with a Crwth? Is that right? What the HELL is that thing?
My personal checklist: 1. Is this song repetitive and/or otherwise musically boring? Answer NO 2. Is it lyrically interesting and/or otherwise meaningful? Answer YES 3. Is it easy to hear & understand the lyrics? Answer YES Conclusion, I like this song a lot.
wasnt mortiis in Marduk, a band that openly disseminates third reich propaganda and uses straight arm salutes at their own shows? cant say i enjoy seeing evan in that shirt.

My favorite song from Edge of the Earth and now my favorite version...Just perfect
Thank you gentlemen. I'd love this version available for purchase. It's amazing. The banjo presence is soo soothing.
I really want to buy this version too! It's so good
Still want to purchase this! Or an entire album of rerecordings in this style!
Brilliant. This band is the most creative band ever. The arrangements are perfect to the smallest detail
So beautiful I cried
Perfect as always, gentlemen.

Absolute genius.

Possibly my favourite track from you guys, it's nice to see all the instruments responsible for those gorgeous sounds!

Wonderful! I love the way you play this song.
Pretty unique!
Saludos desde Bogotá, Colombia!
Hauntingly beautiful!
Great band.
A very fine piece of art! Chapeau.
This is remarkable, guys. Massive respect for whipping out a dulcimer!
I got one of your songs on spotify and I listened to your newest album in one sitting. Looks like you guys will be my new favorite band to follow!

Songs 1-5 on that album are so perfect. Also I enjoyed hanging out with you guys for a few minutes at the resort in Cozumel;)
Yeah, Bal-Sagoth flag! Excellent taste!
This is beautiful
You guys are incredible!
Very nice guys. We'll done.
Thank you boys for blessing us yet again 🙏
Stunning!
Can't wait to see you guys live!
majestic
Is there a tab for this one (even chords) ? Been trying to play it for years!
Made my day!
The new youtube changes makes it so no one can see that this actually has 0 dislikes. I took a screenshot at ~11,000 views with 0 dislikes.
hah!
Awesome!
Beautiful 👍
Would y'all consider a GoFundMe or a Kickstarter for a vinyl release of your discography? The world needs it!!!
Shifting Sands they have Century Media now to take care of stuff like that ;)
@@Jordy666sic I just saw that Veil of Imagination is getting a vinyl release on Instagram today, lol. I hope their first 2 albums get one too.
Holy Fuck this is something
Thank you John!
So cool to see all the instruments in this video, i've spent most of my morning Googling strange bowed instruments to figure out what Wayne was playing and I am currently going with a Crwth? Is that right? What the HELL is that thing?
It's a custom instrument built by Wayne - a bit inspired by a Kantele, but he just calls it a "lap harp"
I've seen PJ Harvey play something similar. I think it was called an Autoharp?
My personal checklist:
1. Is this song repetitive and/or otherwise musically boring? Answer NO
2. Is it lyrically interesting and/or otherwise meaningful? Answer YES
3. Is it easy to hear & understand the lyrics? Answer YES
Conclusion, I like this song a lot.
Wait... Wayne... Is that a fretless guitar??? Bruhhhhhh
