Thank you for your honest opinion! This is the first year we decided not to attend the OOgie boogie bash as we have a big November trip coming up. I’m actually surprised to hear how lackluster it was this year, as the previous times we went it was amazing! We did go to the first Merriest Nights party last year, and it was absolutely not worth the price tag for us being a family of four in my opinion! The price tags continue to go up, but the actual “value” of these events seems to be decreasing which is super disappointing!
Thanks for sharing. It does seem like a lot to mostly stand in line. Hopefully they are able to bring back some of the experiences in the future that made previous parties more engaging. Glad you got to go, though! ☺
I haven’t been to oogie boogie bash but I have been to Mickeys Not So Scary and it absolutely pains me to say (because I too am a Disney Fanatic) I agree with you…it is becoming harder and harder to justify the price! It’s just becoming so very expensive and you said it…you just don’t get that heart tingling WOW experience anymore :(🎃🎃
We were at Disneyland in the summer. My heart goes out to the cast members. I witnessed several of them being yelled at for various things. I also think that as guests we could do better. After parades and nighttime shows the amount of food waste/trash left on the ground, benches and any other flat surface was saddening.
Amber, yes! Those poor cast members! I felt so badly for them! :( Totally agree with you about guests as well. I do think it's partly to do with pricing and people having higher expections, but that's not an excuse for placing their anger onto cast members who have nothing to do with it.
We went to one of the first dates and it was a few bucks cheaper. I don’t know if I would pay close to $200 for it though. I agree that the lines were just too long. Even to buy the seasonal treats we had to wait for like 30-40mins. That’s just too much time to waste in a 5 hour timeframe.
So glad you were able to get tickets it looks like a lot of fun. The haunted mansion holiday ride is cool too. OmGosh I could totally be mad maddam Mim for Disney bound. There aren't many Plus sized characters other than the fairies and the queen of hearts
I have heard the same thing. People just don’t think it’s worth it anymore. If staffing is the real reason, then let’s hope next year is better. HOWEVER, I think Disney isn’t what it used to be either. COVID was a convent reason to take included things away and not bring them back, IMO, Chapek is ruining the company for big fans who spend thousands of dollar their annually.
Ohh Jessi… girl let’s talk. So my best friend and I, like you, went to the oogie boogie bash in 2019 and for the same exact reasons you stated we were not happy. Where were the characters?! Where were the villains?! We were Esmeralda (main purple and red dress outfits) and did not even have a chance to see Frollo which he was there in 2019 when I was Meg. Wasn’t too hopeful that I’d get him but for us to not get villains at all?! And to not get many characters and most were on stage.. unacceptable. We saw Ping for two seconds and never saw her again. Never saw Meg. The food is not the same- hadn’t been back there in march 2020 when I was an AP. So that was disappointing. I loved the pepperjack corn dog- not there anymore. The music yes!! What was that?! The trails didn’t give much candy like before. The line to the trail was insanely long! So disappointing for the hefty price. Appreciate your honesty because I know we weren’t alone!
Yes!!! I feel you! Where the heck were the characters?!!? Why did they not have more people out? I'm so sorry that you were Esmerelda and didn't get that photo op! :( You're very correct about the food too, it just hasn't been the same! The music I think was the most sad, because it created an ambiance, and it was so noticeably silent in some areas of the park! Oh and something I forgot to mention, I miss specialty merch for ALL the parties, it used to be so EPIC. Like multiple items that were special to the event AND only available at the event. I bought the two OBB pins the day after the event!
@@MissJessiCherry Right! So many quiet areas and areas we fully expected characters to be and nothing. We didn’t have time to go to the trail but with what you with it feeling rushed, I feel better about it. I am glad we are not alone on the food! I am going back to Disneyland for the first time since 3/13/20 this Friday and after this experience I am so nervous I’ll be disappointed! I hope the beignets and mint juleps are still good for example!! But yes you make a great point! No special event merch! It is such a shame!
Honesty, that review is how I feel about DisneyLand in general. I grew up going to WDW because I’m on the east coast, but I had the opportunity to go to DisneyLand in high school. And yeah, the entire experience was underwhelming. I haven’t been back and don’t plan to go anytime soon. I think WDW has a much better experience, and more things to do at all times of the year.
Hi Jessi. OK can we talk about Loki and Lindsey shouting up to him? 🤣🤣🤪🤪😜😜 Thought it was fabulous. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It did seem like you got alot done. We went for the first time last year. We were not able to see many of the Villains. It was an enjoyable time. But it was the first one they had since 2020. I would have hoped this year's would have superceded that. That poor girl at the Churro cart. I hope they hear your feedback and make changes for next year. ~Ali 🎀🏰💖
I had a great time at OBB at first, even though I unwittingly bought tickets for the first night this year… of course it was during our nasty heat wave, so I got heat exhaustion and had to leave at like 9pm 😭 I went as Captain Hook so I got to meet and get pics with Mr. Smee at Pacific Wharf. And Ernesto was the very first thing we did when the party started, so my group waited for 10 minutes tops. He is indeed attractive 😅 I can certainly see how busier/more expensive days in the season can be less fun, since everyone seems to be in line for one thing or another. Still planning to go next year though, since I missed the parade! 😢
I haven't been to any of the US parks, as you know, but I feel the exact same about Disneyland Paris. Yes we had an excellent time during our last trip, and it was great to see that they are trying to improve some things (like opening all places to eat rather than just a few), but at the same time, there's a lot of quality issues all accross board and the prices just keep going up. So yes, 100% agree, just in a different way.
Not Halloween related but I used to go every few years or so and stay at the Grand Cal - the room we always booked is now over four times the cost - I’m not sure if we’ll ever be back 💔😞 I get inflation but I think we’re seeing just greed 😑
Oh that's such a bummer! It's funny you mentioned this, as we just priced out a room there for a future trip, and I don't think it's in the cards for us! YIKES!!!
Just wanted to say thanks for vloging not only Disneyland, but also the bash. I'm not sure if I'll ever get out to Cali, let alone the extra ticket event. Sorry it wasn't the best of the best nights for you this time.
Happy Halloween 🎃! I've never been to that event, but it kind of seemed a bit disappointing to me. Hopefully, I'll be going to Walt Disney World for the very first time in the spring of next year
I recently went to the Mickey Mouse, so scary Halloween party. To me, it felt okay but when you try to look for purchase, I said it just exclusively for the party. You could find them out through the partsthroughthroughout the day, so it was not even worse, and it's even at night there was long wine or rise, and Even the long lines or the characters that you normally don't see. But to me, it felt like it was rushed this year, but I also do think the prices going up does not help either because like it was like what you're paying for is not matching what you're experiencing at all.
We went to the bash in 2018 cost $120 then and we had a lot of fun. I do think Disney oversells these events and makes it impossible to do everything due to long lines. I will agree with you about the parade it was fantastic and for me it was the best part of the night.
Feeling the same everything just seems to be costing so much more and you are getting significantly less for the price tag. Its really hard to justify going when we used to get a lot more for less. Its sad to see as someone who loves Disney but the choices they are making just aren't it for me at least knowing what I used to get :(
Sorry you had such an underwhelming experience! My partner and I went for the first time this year and had a great time. We didn't encounter any of the issues you mentioned: there were character meet-and-greets at various locations, we weren't rushed through the trails (except for one or two really popular ones), and the CMs all seemed relaxed and adept at their jobs. I wonder if you just happened to go on a bad night?
So glad you had a good, positive experience! I’ve been to a ton of Disney events and had such an odd experience here! 😬 Hopefully it will be better next year!
I went twice to Oogie Boogie in 2022 and one trip was lackluster and the other one I had a better time. I will say it wasn’t as fun as in 2019 and 2021. I believe they cut the hours and it seemed not as exciting.
I’ll be honest to say I’m regretting getting the tickets for this year when we could have just gone with the so cal discount for the regular Disney parks, but my sister wants to go so I guess we’ll at least say we did it even though I’m already disappointed with what looks like just long lines to see characters
This seems to be a big trend with Disney- charging more and giving less. And I believe it is happening with their employees too so they are having huge staff turnovers and they cannot operate without an efficient and very well trained staff. More and more of the Disney magic seems to be rubbing off and that is sad. Everyone understands that prices have gone up in everything everywhere but if you are paying those higher prices, you better be getting the same quality as you had before. I’m sorry it wasn’t what you hoped for. It seems to be a sentiment echoed across the Disney TH-cam community (and I’m sure in other social media as well, I’m just old and don’t use anything else except FB for the most part lol). It will be interesting to see what might be a turning point for people, the point where they just say it is all too pricey and they do not sell out at these events, or merchandise does not keep getting bought, etc. Most of us do not have endless pockets and already have to save up for a long time to plan for these trips.
How DARE Lindsay try to steal my future husband!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think you were not alone in your dissatisfaction with the bash. I’ve heard this from many TH-camrs. Disney has gone through down times before, so I’m hopeful in a few years we will all be excited about fabulous new changes.
HAHAHA!!! How very dare she!?! Oh no, yeah, it is interesting to hear about what people thought! I can't believe it was so different than the previous years.

Yes, I sure hope so! It was so much fun, but I wish I didn't have the 2019 OBB to compare it to!

I went to MNSSHP in 2019 and it was so amazing I almost don’t want to go again in case it’s not the same
The Horseman is the best! I always get so excited when he comes out! MNSSHP is the best! I am so excited to go next year!
Other than characters that aren't out normally what is different about just going on a regular night & an oogie night?
The only two things that would be different are the Halloween Parade and trick or treating!
@@MissJessiCherry It sounds like this year was over price trick or treating!
