@@alexf4379 With all due respect, guidelines were set in an attempt to prevent millions more people from needlessly dying or being hospitalized with Covid. To do nothing would have led to many more deaths and a longer recovery from the pandemic if the majority of citizens refused to take the vaccine. Social distancing and masking not only worked to keep me Covid-free until I was able to be vaccinated, but I never even suffered from the slightest sore throat during that time. I am truly thankful for former President Trump's approval and encouragement of Operation Warp Speed in developing the Covid vaccines and for President Biden and Dr. Fauci's tireless efforts to get shots in arms. At 60, I hope I never have to live through such a public health crisis in my lifetime.

Such a heartwarming sight to see Dr. Fauci so warmly greeted with enthusiastic applause from an audience that appreciates his tireless life's work in the fight against AIDS, ebola, Covid, etc. Dr. Fauci is an American treasure, and each day I pray for his safety and that of his family. Thank God that so many of our greatest generation of WWII lived through that truly tough era, some only armed with their resilience, tenacity and resourcefulness. I often thought of that generation of people whenever I would hear people complaining about wearing a bit of cloth over their faces or complaining about a vaccine that helped to save lives. I thank Dr. Fauci for his wisdom and patience in helping to lead our country through the Covid crisis as many challenged him and his medical expertise at just about every turn. I hope his teaching schedule now allows for more leisure time with his wife, daughters and grandchild, because he has truly earned it! Thank you for your tireless and devoted service, Dr. Fauci!

I've had ongoing health problems since receiving two mRNA vaccine doses in 2021. Before that, I was fit and remarkably healthy for my age as a senior. That said, documented "post COVID vaccine" sufferers number in the hundreds. It is possible that just as many or even more cases are undocumented, but that still doesn't hold a candle to the number of lives that were saved with the COVID19 vaccines. Deaths dropped dramatically and stayed low in all areas where people were vaccinated. I wish we had been more clearly advised about potential risks, though they could hardly have been aware of them at the time, and I probably would not have made a different choice in any case. Sometimes the odds are simply not in our favour. It's good to hear from Dr. Fauci that he feels positive about eventual solutions for us long haulers.

@kayecastleman6353 So sorry to hear of your Covid vaccine health issues, but so refreshing to hear you not cast blame on medical professionals like Dr. Fauci. Take good care of yourself.

Wow. Your candor and composure around a contentious issue that had a negative impact on your life... is amazing. It shouldn't be amazing, but in 2024, it is. Acknowledging that you probably would've made the same choice in the past would be seen as an "admission" or "confession" by extremists. I see it as an honest person explaining how we can only make our best decisions with the information we have at the time.
Then going on to discuss how, despite your own experience, the vaccine on the whole saved lives is the kind of selfless thinking that gives me hope.
I'm very sorry about what happened to you... and I'm grateful that you shared your experience here. I don't know you at all, but your reply is so compelling that I *really do* hope the negative effects lessen over time.

Obviously, often one mans morality is another mans evil. The conundrum pretends to be solved by gods dictating morality, etc. Indeed, the most common #sin# is to take the name of the lord in vain---priests knowing what the specific god wants. Actually, democracy itself is a modern version of the battles fought with swords, except now, supposedly, it is one man one vote, whereas formerly a champion could defeat many---of course, several factors are in play. e g, money, education, health, leisure, psychology. Anyway, it is still a battle of the bed---how many soldiers can your faction mount? Unfortunately, folks who could arm forces I would like have in recent history had too few kids. That a citizen chooses to be childless affects the prognosis of success of her/his political culture. That in USA the authoritarian atavists are now strong is due partly to their having made more babies who now vote---especially as such theocrats strenuously mold their kids...and I do mean #their#. So, I emphasize the distinctions between the notion #politics# and the notion #society#---the former having raw power, the latter being attitude...politically, a woman must own her body, but socially I hope the intelligent will accept responsibility to outnumber the bestial at the polls. We must not be fascinated by Trump himself---he is mere front-man for huge evil forces we must defeat.
Were the producers of his tv shows involved in grooming Trump to be front-man for Heritage? As chimps defend territory of space with trees humans defend territory of future time with new generations. Wake up---believers are defensive due to advances of atheism...too bad in 1930 USA did not realize that ordinary Germans were becoming Nazis.

@aaroncampbell8303 In the United States, we live by a rule of law and evidence. Just because you wish someone to be jailed, it does not make it so. I believe that is why Dr. Fauci has been subjected to so many death threats. When your opponent has no evidence of wrongdoing that would hold up in any court in the land, they sadly resort to threats and violence. I admire Dr. Fauci for moving forward each day with courage, tenacity and grace. I pray for his continued safety and that of his beloved family.

To date, opponents of Dr. Fauci scream "lock him up", but no evidence has been presented. Dr. Fauci is Anerican, not Russian, and we follow a system of laws in America. Ever wonder why Hillary Clinton was never indicted for any crimes after all the "lock her up" chants? She's not my favorite politician, but she is entitled to due process.
