If I’m single or in a relationship with no kids, NYC all day. If I have a family but still want to live in a major city, Boston takes it. At least in the modern day as much as I hate to admit it

I hear you. If you ask New Yorkers they will say that NYC is the best place to raise kids. I am sure there are many opportunities in NYC to do it right, but if comparing Manhattan and Boston proper, Boston is calmer and better in many ways for raising kids. I agree.

Their public transit is SOOO slow though. I didn't find them to be any livelier than Boston. Boston also has richer history and a cooler old town area (North End and parts of Downtown).
