Thank you for doing a great tutorial. It's very helpful.
If I may make one suggestion, have you considered playing this game with a camera set at an angle instead of over top? It would be easier for us to see the 3D aspects of this game if the camera view was at an angle.
It's just a thought. You guys do great stuff.

We have a few limitations on that score just given the equipment available, but we'd really like to have that third camera for the more physical games like Skytear.

One clarification when you were discussing the attack of Tlakali on Ixatosk. You said that Tlakali dealt 2 damage, but she actually dealt 4 and Ixatosk lost 2 HP. There are cards that resolve based on damage dealt, and damage is dealt before armor is applied.

      Correct! Thanks Bryan.

I just listened to the podcast with PvPGeeks and had to check this out. Looks amazing. Now if only I had other humans to play games with. Sigh. Someday, right?

Definitely a game worth checking out! They have done a great job with TTS and if you're into it, the models are great for painting.

Sorry, something is not directly 100% clear to me =/ During the Stack and windows to use cards; I still have to respect the amount of mana available for the round?
During round 2 (2 mana) I may not act/respond with a 3 mana card nor surpass the amount of 2 mana at any moment during the stack resolve phase. I ALWAYS have to respect the mana available for the round. Right?
(because all the examples online during reaction they always tend to seems that any card is possible to be played (at any amount) as long as the window is open)

I'd love to know if you guys have played Guards of Atlantis and how this compares....I have Guards coming from their recent KS, but this looks GREAT. just curious about the key differences are.

    • @teamcovenant
      @teamcovenant  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

We haven't played Guards of Atlantis, but Skytear is aiming much more at the expandable, play this actively within a community for years, get new content kind of vibe. Steven was on the Quackalope podcast; they'd played Guards and much preferred Skytear.

This kind of reminds me of how I wish Anima Tactics was. Anima Tactics ALMOST felt like a Moba, but there was some super busted stuff... Church and the Mech people were kind of OP. I played the... ninja pirates?

Tell me if i am wrong, but after some games with the core set, we felt the action "Lead" has too much impact on the game. It felt like as soon the opponent does it, you have to also do it, because he won't really care about taking some damages on his champion if at the end of the round he is already under tower to put pressure. It resumed by, every games looked kind of the same (who's getting the best lead this turn) and when we tried different strategy, because we really felt that couldn't be possible that the game could be like that... at the end every time it was less effective than a strong lead + damage on minion. It was disappointing.

    • @teamcovenant

This can happen when you're first starting out. But it 100% opens up as you get more experienced.
These days, Zach will often not lead at all to get a wave pushed closer to his base, particularly if there is an assassination objective. Steven is really focusing on lists that push Heroes 2+ spaces each turn (using abilities and power cards) to remove enemy heroes with Lead cards from the control point. It's also become obvious that winning a lane only has so much benefit; pushing too hard is often to your disadvantage, whereas knocking down 1-2 towers at a time yields the most card draw.
It's also to the point that most lists have a good shot at removing a hero from the board turn one if they focus on it. That's also a very valid early game strategy - give up a lane to get an early kill.
Basically, it feels just like DOTA. If you don't spend time and actions in a lane, it'll advance, but that's not always bad.

The stack is really overcomplicated. How silly. Build that stack and that's it - not intermediate reactions.

you could have reduced this by at least an hour if you where more straight foward without repeating the same rule 12 times
    thanks though
