Fabian, Genuine nice guy. Great performer, that learned show business quickly. Proud to be credited as co-writer on three of his recordings, 'Stop Thief!' 'I'm Sincere' and one of a few of his ballads 'Hold Me (in your arms)'. Still performing with the 'Golden Boys'. Keep on Rockin', Fabe!
A career based on looks alone can't really succeed. He was a very pleasant young man who did his best. Really he was used. His former manager used him for his own ends.

I think there was resentment against Fabian because he was exploited almost completely because of his beauty at first. He was one of the first males to be promoted in that way. It was a double standard because dozens of talentless girls had been foisted on the public for decades solely because they were pretty and sexy. Fabian stuck with it and became a good actor and he's still performing, so I guess he had the last laugh.
My mother's friend was Fabian's first manager back in the late 50's, and i was told many times how he had held and kissed me as a 2 year old, when he made an appearance at a wedding that she, my father and the two of them attended back then.
