God I love the way this Woman sang this song/poem! Makes me feel proud I volunteered for military service. Thank you all my Brothers and Sisters for excepting me in the Military after basic training and being my Mentors! I can only hope and pray that I can make you as proud of me as I respect and revere you. I hope to meet or exceed your expectations of me so that I may let you feel that you can retire and feel safe in knowing that I will Know your vision to take this shop forward.
One of my all time favourite film music cues, composed by British composer Geofrey Burgeon (a contemporary composer who'd worked only a handful of Television and Film projects) it's a shame the score for this film was never released commerically. Thanks for uploading this, nice to finally have a wav of this music.
Epitaph on an Army of Mercenaries (XXXVI) THESE, in the day when heaven was falling The hour when earth's foundations fled, Followed their mercenary calling, And took their wages, and are dead. Their shoulders held the sky suspended; They stood, and earth's foundations stay; What God abandoned, these defended, And saved the sum of things for pay. A.E. Housman
I really would like to translate these sentences. One thing is wrong on these verse. Mercenaries fighting for money, their craftmansship is the war and they are only fighting for money. The one who offers them more money than another does is the one who gehts their support. They are no victims of war, they are perpetrator whose craftmanship is the war. They don´t held the world, they are filling up their bankaccounts.
Those of you who like real stories about mercenary adventures , I recommend the book , "Congo Mercenary" by Mike "madMike" Hoare. Real stories told by a mercenary who fought during the Congo war of 1964.
wait... wont he kill himself, as the protagonist did in the novel, cos' he had some kind of cancer...? i cried my eyes out when i read in the book how Shannon has ended his life

Gillian McPherson is singing and does tremendous justice to the poem

They release a soundtrack for the movie in 2015 including this song, There were 1200 units made for sale.
Geoffrey Burgeon also did the music for the BBC series Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
