One of my biggest negatives was definitely the monthly programs. More specifically, not being able to get the legend monthly player until the beginning of the next month.
Mini Seasons was the best mode they've ever added to Diamond Dynasty. It was the best repeatable method to gain XP, PXP, packs and stubs.
I remember when you could repeatedly unlock the Headliner Choice Pack. I made over 3 million stubs that "season." 🔥 🔥 🔥

Time Flies man, felt like I was just wrapping up 21 and starting to get excited for 22, 23 comes out tmr, wow...
I had never played MLB The Show before this year so I loved it, but maybe that's just because I had no basis for comparison. It was the first time I got into a sports game since back in the days when Madden was actually universally loved (I'm talking the ones with Michael Vick and Ray Lewis on the cover LOL) and NCAA Football before that was sadly discontinued. Diamond Dynasty as a concept is just perfect to me as it combines fantasy baseball, the stock market, card collecting and RPGs. Cannot wait to see how MLB The Show 23 improves the formula further!
I liked the game a lot it was like 21 basically the same actually not necessarily a bad thing it just got boring I guess bc I played the same game 2 years in a row but next year the game is completely different the way cards work so I think it will be great. My personal favorite was 20 tho but that might just be bc that’s when I really became hood and made World Series and stuff like that
Definitely agree with the stat missions instead of parallel xp. Lets hope they bring them back!
My biggest negative by far was the hitting engine. It sent me over the edge too many times with how many times I pieced up a ball middle PCI early side of good timing and it's a routine flyball. I raged so much with the amount of times that happened to me and I feel bad for others it happened to because it shouldn't have happened to begin with.
The number of weak oppo fly balls on very late contact was absurd. Also excessively long AB's due to forgiving foul tips. Too many perfect perfect foul outs and lineouts as well. Hitting was just messy
Yeah for me. 21 was better in terms of hitting. Cuz for me at least I didn't get that problem till close to the end of the year.
It was a terrible hitting engine.
You know me. You have since MLB 17. Which means you also know I'm old and have played EVERY MLB since it has been The Show (and a bit before that). This is the only one that I gave up on playing early. Sure I had a lot of other real life stuff going on which prevented me from grinding it out. But I also lost my desire. I felt I would have to completely ignore my family, never sleep and probably neglect my job (which is in critical care in a hospital so...) if I wanted to get anywhere. On top of that, I was not having fun. So I'm very glad to get to MLB 23 (which I was going to skip, BUT then they added Negro Leagues, and WBC, and changed up the structure and I played the Tech Test. So here I go again but enthusiastically). I hope it's the greatest yet.

From a person that played MLB the show 21 tons (and completed all the collections), the PXP grind in 22 really turned me off from the game in July. Grinding was too tedious and not as fun or rewarding
Flashback monthly rewards cards being locked until the end of the month! You said you didn’t like that aspect a couple times I remember.
the limited time packs are a fun thing to have in the store but they need to incorporate something like MUT where you can get any type of card in the standard pack. i would love to see a golden ticket type thing in the game. make standard packs worth something more than live series cards that lose stub value as the year goes on
you can get any card out of standard packs, it's just extremely extremely rare

Bro have you never played the show before?
As someone who's not a PvP fan and just loves the sport, collecting cool players and making fun teams to take on the CPU, I wish there was a way to earn the really cool strong cards without PvP. I think this could be balanced by making CPU-mode earned cards restricted to CPU play to prevent PvP players from grinding out strong cards easily and taking them into online. Like for example, I could do something like get 500 strikeouts with NL pitchers against CPU and earn a 99 Randy Johnson. Then if you earn it, it says it can only be used in CPU modes and can't be sold. Earning the card in online just unlocks it as a full card: sales, stats and use.
Also something my friend and I did since we both prefer CPU is replace the two lowest records in 2022 (Oakland and Washington) with our DD teams, did a draft, looked up the schedules and played our custom teams out in a normal CPU season, keeping stats and all (kind of like you do for Angels in the Outfield)- I'd really like this to be a game mode in MLB24. I think it would be super cool to form your DD team and be able to play a full 162 game season with them as if they were a part of the league. To go a step further (probably would be too much work in the time span tbh) it would be cool if the game detected what players you had in your roster and replaced them on their existing teams i.e if you had Trea Turner, the Phillies SS spot would fill with a different player. This would just be a cool rewarding gamemode for PvE players I think, and part of the work is already there in Franchise and RTTS with a season system in place.

If a program makes me do more than like 2 moments I won't do it unless it's for one of my absolute favorite players. There were a lot of cards I missed out on bc of that. Moments feel like homework, I'd rather play the game and get the cards as I play what I want to play.
I'm only an offline grinder so mini seasons was much welcomed this year

You hit all the negatives I had. I loved 21’s grinding. 22’s grinding was annoying and I didn’t even get through the POTM.
the reason that i had so much fun in 22 is because of how much my skill increased and how it was my first game that i played from launch
i like the featured programs because it opens up the idea to “miscellaneous” card art, like a spring cleaning programs bosses were a spring themed card like in other games but team affinity is clutch cause you can get every card in a grind that is better than doing collections moment and march to october in order to get 1 pack and 2k myteam keeps their game flowing by adding almost max attribute cards, or like an out of position set to spice things up, MLB shouldn’t stop at what their at now, they should give near max cards like 2k has 99 3 pointer shaq in the last 2 months of the game
I know this year was far from perfect but this may be the most fun I've had grinding an MLB the show game and I've been playing since 17. Something about the way that the programs were set up just made me always excited to get home from work and start up the game. The only major issue I had was with the monthly awards programs because those honestly got so boring by the end of the year because you knew exactly what was coming every time and it was a long tedious grind for a player that would be overshadowed fairly soon
My negatives was the monthly awards programs because the grind of doing it took a long time to getting the best player out of that program but my biggest positives were the feature programs because you work your way of grinding for that Pacific good cards and getting a lot of cards in your inventory. And my other big negative was them not giving them a better version card like Devers, Mays, and other more cards that didn’t get a better version of a card. But the show 22 was a fun game of grinding, play competitive with other people and earning or unlocking cards of playing the game
That’s why I didn’t play much of diamond dynasty this year the grind was such a fucking nightmare

gotta agreee with that last point. This game felt like a reskin of mlb 21 in a good amount of ways, and downgraded in some aspects but improved in others. I got hope for 23 tho with the changes in fielding and DD. very excited for 23
My only problem with this game other than some points koogs made was the postseason programs they put all of it in one unlike 2021 which was like wildcard,division series,championship series, and World Series program
I didn’t like the monthly awards program. What made it worse was that the legend lightning card also wasn’t obtainable till a month after they announced it.
After the SDS feature premiere livestream tonight, I have to say this in regards to the content finishing early for 22. Yes, the content ending early was disappointing, but the amount of content they showed for 23, I've never felt so overwhelmed with MLB the Show content on the first night. They did a great job working on all the content they are releasing on day 1 of the new game, so I have to give them big props for that.
This was my first year playing, given how you though it was kind of a down year, I look forward to next game

I agree with the events reward rewind packs in almost every event cause prior to 22 I hardly would get the rewards from buying cause they costed too much and I don’t play events whereas this yr I got a whole bunch not every but more than any other yr
This was my first year playing DD. So I enjoyed it since I’m ignorant to all the past content
Making the ranked reward path full games or like 7 innings played sounds like a good idea tbh.
22 was rough for me. my biggest issue with the game was that the hitting was extremely inconsistent. a lot of times hits and input timing wouldn't be consistent which was infuriating to me. for example a just early timing on inside pitches was foul sometimes and not other times. I just wish whatever the hitting was gonna be it was consistent ALL THE TIME and not make you feel like the game is trying to decide whether or not to reward you.
Besides the parallel grind because me and my friend had p5 races with every all star game card
I picked the right year to take a year off. Excited to jump back in with 23 though
I know its too late to ipliment to the new game but what do you think about being able to toggle be cards on and off for the draft after you have completed the mission for them? so say I got the 500 pxp with the gold pitcher and don't want to see him show up anymore to give me more options. well I can go into the program section and just check a box next to his mission that excludes him from my drafts during that program
Ik you said you weren’t gonna make any the show 22 content anymore but the 99 milestone Cody belonged has to be the best non pitcher card in the game

MLB the show was my first show game, 3 thing I think need changed are never difficulty locking anything maybe make higher difficulty give better rewards but never make people play a difficulty to high
and second packs need a complete overall remove duplicate diamonds make headliner diamond only be headliner cards the chase packs should only be 95+ since they cost 50k Stubb's add verity to packs in the shop and third SDS needs to fix the market there's no reason a gold should be going for 1k plus especially live series they need to add a cap for all cards so if you don't want to play online getting those cards is somewhat possible the cap should be less then a million giving the community control is just asking for it to be abused and that's exactly what happened the game is great but needs some changes
I think the content stopping after world series is unavoidable because of game creation schedule. I agree with all your other points
I think they need to buff the amount of PXP you get for batters per at bat. I think the system is broken when you make progress with a pitcher significantly faster than a batter.
I finished my last season yesterday. This is easily the least enjoyable in terms of gameplay, but content was outstanding
I wish I could play it but thanks to SDS, yet another year comes and goes with The Show not available on PC... They've already said 2023 will be no PC...
this game neeeeeeeeeeeds a comp game mode. Way more fun than grinding leaderboards. Would also bring another element into the game
I think the PXP grinding was a pain. It really forced your hand if you didn't enjoy a mode like BR where you have all kinds of players from different teams, sets, etc. If you were a casual player and liked to play with cards you enjoyed, it made it very difficult to get these completed without being forced to use a card you hate.

I know this is similar to TA but putting something in the game like how 2K has the trophy case I think would be good. There would need to be some improvements because I think 2Ks system is wack but you know what I mean

In a way, I understand why you would want to content to keep rolling out, but I kind of feel like they stretched it too far. I think this game is more of an eight month game cycle. I couldn’t see myself playing the game for 12 straight months and then getting next year’s game and playing for another 12 straight months I need some sort of hiatus.

To be fair.. your business is centered around debuting the best cards as soon as possible to capitalize on the hype of new cards and content. Content creators are in the minority in this aspect, and thus will not enjoy a longer grind for better cards. Personally, I enjoy watching those debuts to see how a particular card performs in game, so I get the pain of a long grind but don’t mind the grind to get them myself. There’s no need to rush unless you’re making a living off this game and that’s who the game caters to and what keeps the lights on at SDS
