Where is this , state , town, train station or platform. I do see Downers Grove highlighted but where I this? California?? Could you put a location on the video. But this is a great video so many trains and different types of trains. You could set there all day watching trains. Very nice.

The first place to begin is having a scanner. A lot of times over the scanner a yardmaster says the destination of the train before it leaves the yard. If there is a heritage engine on a particular train sometimes other railfans or social media groups give heads up. But we rely on the old fashioned scanner.
