A few issues. Laying the sign on cardboard was a good idea, but didn't have enough to cover all sides, leaving it prone to damage. That damage is magnified when it's a new sign going up for a business. Attaching the mounts should have lag bolts, washers & locking nuts, not lag screws. The sign attached to the beams should have been done with long lag bolts, washers, and locking nuts on the other side. This creates a parallel force through the entire beam instead of merely hanging on one side of metal as the insides are hollow. The measuring tape is your friend. There should of been premeasurements taken on the beams itself with markings of the specific area the brackets should have been mounted on the beams. The sign is not centered across the two beams, although it was leveled. The interior wiring should have been spot spliced & soldered instead of using screw connectors. No heat shrink wrap was applied on these connections, so they're more prone to the elements.
All of these "issues" could have been remedied easily if the installer took the extra time to make it right, instead of showing up and trying to get it done as fast as possible, or, "before lunch" as stated in the video. I don't doubt the sign will hold, but it sets a poor example of 'she'll be fine' versus 'it's done right'.
