Thanks. I just got a 2000 corolla that has sat for 2 years. Gas was bad so I needed to drain it. Knowing the location of this relay and referencing another vid about using the relay to activate the pump, I was able to pump all the bad gas out of the tank via the injectors.
There should be more people like you man! Thanks alot! Very helpfull. I have a 2000 Corolla G6, that starts like a dream, and after a while suddenly stops without warning. And i have to wait sometimes 15 - 20 minutes for it to turn back on. And then after 2 - 15 minutes all over again. I just cant find the problem. Any suggestions are so much appreciated 🙏
Take the gas cap off after it shuts off and listen for air movement, then try to start it. One possible cause is a clogged vent for the gas tank that allows suction to build up
@@LehewTech Wow, Lehew, you just saved my vacation! Gas cap it was. I had trouble starting my 02 Corolla after long trips and during damp cool weather, exactly when the suction in the tank would have built up the most. And I was ready to get into the relays, the fuel filter and pump, the spark plugs. And in the meantime, I would have burned out my starter, my battery and my relays. I wonder whether my past otherwise-perfectly-good Toyotas had that same problem, and caused me to junk them.
Damn good video. Thorough and to the point. I hope I can find one for my 93. It's a little different but you gave me some good starting points. Thank you!
Hey, do you know what the relay is above the fuel pump relay? My car didn't have one installed, so put the horn relay in its place. Have been fighting a chronic engine light. Have had P0171 (lean bank), and P0420 (catalytic converter). Very difficult problem...
Just rebuilt fuel pump..now cannot start unless i disconnect the fuel pump and plug it back in..then starts fine...could one of the wires be spliced in backwards???
I hope you see this My car won’t start, I took out my ecu and put in another and it wouldn’t start, I then put in my old one again because I knew it still works but now my car won’t start It’s a 1.4 Toyota Corolla EU When I twist the key the fuel pump doesn’t hum, even tho the socket gets power And when I twist the rest of the way the starter doesn’t make a sound Also to note the immobiliser light blinks as normal Not sure what to do here , the grounds and fuses look okay unless there’s a relay somewhere not working or maybe a fuse is bad and I missed it Or does the ecu need to be reset or reflashed
On my 96 estima I have not been able to find the fuel pump relay .When I try to remove a relay I need both hands and pliars. The casing gets crushed and the relay wires get broken .This is planned to discourage people from doing thier own repairs.
My fuel pump work n all but my gas giage not I changed the. Speedometer. Cause gusgae gage speed n. Miles wasn't working but changed it n all worked except the fuel gueage
Consider having a mechanic do this... you may never do it again and if fuel vapors are in the car and ANYTHING ignites them, you can die fast... Do not take a risk to save some money.

Wait so I can swap the horn relay with the fuel pump relay as a troubleshooting step to see if it’ll run?
To see if the horn works. You're testing the relay.
