THE SUPER LEGENDS MLAMBOS EXPRESS BAND
The Super Legends Mlambos Express Band is a Zimbabwean Rhumba band which is fast becoming an institutionalised brand given its growth and depth. The band was founded in the early nineties by the visionary Luvula village born Fiselani Ngwenya popularly known as ‘SaMaNgwe” in Bulilima-Mangwe District (Matabeleland South Province). He used to play the tin, twine and plank guitar before acquiring the modern equipment and along the journey he was joined by his nephew Obvious Dube , thus calling themselves ‘Abafana baka Mlambo” (Mlambo Boys). The name ‘Mlambo’ was adopted from Fiselani’s father’s second name. As the band grew it was joined by Mr Njengelizwe Ngwenya who came as a dancer and now a drumist and bass guitarist.
The band was fortunate enough because when Fiselani”s brother Mr.Mordicia Ngwenya left for greener pastures in South Africa he thought of buying them their first musical instruments as a way of boosting them. Thus in 2002 the group recorded its debut album “Imfundo Yimpilo” which sold like hot cakes drawing its fans from South Africa and as far afield as United Kingdoms. It was at this stage that the band was joined by Mlungisi aka Ncane Sibanda, Bandlululo Nyoni and the late great Thuthani Superstar Ndlovu popularly known as Mabaretha .After the band had relocated to South Africa it grew in leaps and bounds. As the road to fame took its course the name was then rephonologised and Englished as Mlambos, then later on by virtue of popularly it acquired the title ‘THE Super Legends’ and now in full it goes as ‘THE SUPER LEGENDS -MLAMBOS EXPRESS BAND”.

The band is well-known for its electrifying footwork and its boosts of lyrics and holistic dance routines that are very family friendly and appeal across all age groups of a family. Above all the group is fond of its discipline, humbleness and openness to the public who can engage them anytime. Infact the band is dedicated to rebranding the Rhumba music genre and want to use its music as flagship for professionalised and institutionalised bands. Hence it takes pride at employing educated professional for different tasks and this has helped to speed up the process of institutionalisation. More so ,most fans have been transformed from being just fans to be the band’s family members by virtue of unwavering support and direct involvement therein.

Have shared stage with many artists including ,Selmor Mtukudzi, Tryson Chimbetu, Clement Magwaza, Allen Ndoda and Madalaboy ,Suluman Chimbetu, Ndux junior , Alick Macheso and great Oliver Mtukudzi
Mlambos formed part of Nelson Mandela Memorial Celebration at Itlhokomeleng Old age home on the 17 of July 2015 with CEO Mrs Marjorie Manganye.
Invited by the government authorities for fundraising of His Excellency President Robert Mugabe’s birthday party on 2 July 2014 alongside other artists
Recently performed at Mqabuko celebrations 2015 and have been earmarked to be annual regulars there
Our music is now available the whole continent, and local stores like Jive city, Reliable Music, Look and Listen, Jet Music, and many more music outlets
