- Rattlesnake in with the foxes!! (Rattlesnake at 30:30 mark if you want to skip ahead) We were very surprised to find another eastern diamondback rattlesnake, this time in with the foxes! Thankfully the rattlesnake was rattling and the foxes were up on the platform keeping their distance. The foxes are too big to have been prey and the snake was likely just passing through and decided to take refuge under the log. This one was a little smaller but still snappy, I relocated it a ways away down the trail. Eastern diamondbacks are one of my favorite snakes to find in Florida, just not under these circumstances, we might have to revisit the idea of using a finer mesh wire around the bottom of the enclosures, I never would’ve thought we would have this happen twice!!

Second time watching this and I'm still in shock seeing the rattler in the foxes enclosure. (INSANE) love watching hazel acting psycho, she kills me while the other 3 are so calm eating and looking at hazel like are you okay do we need to call an exorcist 😂😂😂😂

A great way to create an inexpensive and effective cat scratching post.
Get an old piece of carpet. (Not the fancy ones with a soft deep pile) You want a thin showroom floor type of mat that's like a T4, for extra wear in heavy traffic areas. These last forever. Usually have a nylon mixed pile.
Either use wood from a small pallet as your frame, or screw one together with offcuts.
Cut your piece of secondhand old carpet to the size of the frame.
Attach it with tacks, hakkies (u shaped headless fence nails) or heavy duty staples.
You can stand this upright or flat on the floor. Just secure it so it won't fall on your cat.
To make it extra irresistible rub fresh, bruised cat mint into the pile or sprinkle the dried herb onto the piece of carpet. Good luck and enjoy their antics.

I have to agree with Gabby, leather couches are quite uncomfortable, especially when its hot and muggy out.
My cat loves to scratch boxes, so I put boxes/cardboard in spots I know he will scratch to keep him from going after furniture. Maybe this could help with your crazy cat? I assume him being blind means anything is fair game to him? How old is he?

Fox Tales Florida lost a wonderful fox named Chanel this past year to a rattlesnake. It was heartbreaking. JABCECC in SoCal also has rattlesnake fencing in place. Please don't depend on a fox's instinct. Try contacting either of them to find out about the fencing they've used to make their places rattlesnake resistant.
I'm sure y'all have already thought of this but maybe outline the exterior of the enclosures with plastic panels like three feet from the ground up.
It won't stop it from happening but it might help
Hey Chris, I wanted to ask this in the last video but forgot. So during the weekend, you go back and forth to do tours with Casper, and I wanted to know if you would ever make another video with the alligators you have worked with and given them names that they respond to?
It's been a while since the other channel has shown them, so I thought it would be nice to see them again.
The gators from the feeding videos live at a different facility than Casper. He doesn't work with them anymore. 💚
