The game is just as good as people say it was over a decade later thanks to its unique gameplay and incredible writing I discovered your channel as a result and I've just been going through all your Portal animations because of how good they are! I do prefer the old Cave Johnson version, yes. The new one is just... off. Admittedly I am iffy on GLaDOS too. She sounds like Portal 1 GLaDOS rather than the one in Portal 2.

Holy freaking cow I am in _L O V E_ with this! I remember being 9 and seeing your original This Is Aperture and absolutely loving it. Now I'm 19 and I'm in AWE with the improvement! I love how the shots are insanely similar to the OG, just with extra polish and shine that really makes it stand out more. The re-recorded lines giving extra layers to the song and vocals. Seriously, I love the harmonies mixing with the melodies. The high sweet tunes of the normal turrets singing with the lower, more gruff, deeper defective turrets just make it so much better. Plus Wheatley sounds more gruff, kinda adds to him being freaking terrified of the place. Honestly seeing this was a treat and then some. Seeing you improve over the years is amazing, And I hope you'll be able to continue and do so. The cake may be a lie, but the sheer improvement in this is not!! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas too!

It was 2012 I was living in Siberia back days, trying to find some Portal 2 videos on some local video platform, and i found this. Now its 11 years after that Im sitting here and watching remake version of it, thats some warm memories, thank you for your work :>
Few things I still prefer in the original over this one, but there's no doubt a lot of work went into this version, and it shows (especially some of those environments, I know just how many hours goes into building those, and for it only to be seen for a few moments; don't think it wasn't noticed tho, I for one very much appreciate all that work)

Part of the reason why this one looks so much better is because SFM (June 2012) didn't exist when the original was released (January 2012).

GLaDOS' model is much more detailed, this is made with Source 2 Filmmaker, rather than just being ingame (the original predates SFM by a few months).

I didnt realise its been roughly 9 years since I watched the original parody. Im at a loss for words for this entire thing. Every second scene my mind was blown for what was possible in terms of animation in SFM. only to learn that a whole music video was made in S2FM?? Im staggered, amazed and speechless. (I didnt know people made this sort of stuff in Source 2)

Holy freaking cow I am in _L O V E_ with this! I remember being 9 and seeing your original This Is Aperture and absolutely loving it. Now I'm 19 and I'm in AWE with the improvement!
I love how the shots are insanely similar to the OG, just with extra polish and shine that really makes it stand out more. The re-recorded lines giving extra layers to the song and vocals. Seriously, I love the harmonies mixing with the melodies. The high sweet tunes of the normal turrets singing with the lower, more gruff, deeper defective turrets just make it so much better. Plus Wheatley sounds more gruff, kinda adds to him being freaking terrified of the place.
Honestly seeing this was a treat and then some. Seeing you improve over the years is amazing, And I hope you'll be able to continue and do so. The cake may be a lie, but the sheer improvement in this is not!!

It was 2012 I was living in Siberia back days, trying to find some Portal 2 videos on some local video platform, and i found this. Now its 11 years after that Im sitting here and watching remake version of it, thats some warm memories, thank you for your work :>

Few things I still prefer in the original over this one, but there's no doubt a lot of work went into this version, and it shows (especially some of those environments, I know just how many hours goes into building those, and for it only to be seen for a few moments; don't think it wasn't noticed tho, I for one very much appreciate all that work)
yeah the voices sound more accurate but in some parts it doesn tgo with the song as well or sound strange

I agree with you. I honestly dont like most parts of this remake, like how the male voice is kinda underused unlike the orginal, Cave Johnsons voice is honestly not that good. I do like the new turret voices though.
the main thing I prefer form the original are wheatley and cave johnson's singing, though that could be because they are more familiar

Genuinely brought a tear to my eye, this song was so many hours of my childhood just playing on loop while I learned SFM and did playthrough after playerthrough of both Portal games.

I've spent the better part of the last decade occasionally saying, either while playing Portal or apropos of nothing, "Portal here, portal there, throw a turret in the air, watch for the bullets that'll graze your hair!" in a poor approximation of Wheatley's voice, fantastic remake!
