  • Check out this swimmer-in-progress. She's building a foundation, so to speak, by defaulting to a back position whenever she needs a breath and a rest. This technique is particularly effective for skill building, because rather than grabbing the wall or standing up, she's 1) training herself how to balance on the water to continue moving and 2) become comfortable switching between face-down/face-up positions.
