Some of the best gaming as a medium has to offer can be found within this game, the music is SO good, the presentation is so stressful and feels so real, the acting is top notch, the plot is fuckin fantastic, this is truly a masterpiece
if you spam the left and right triggers when seeing the menu on the tv, mason will break out of the chair and you can walk around the interrogation room and even interact with a PC and put some code words in the get some cool easter eggs.
Hey ma'am, you are playing one of the greatest Call Of Duty campaign the world has forseen...stay tuned for upcoming missions you might be stunned at what follows next...the jaw dropping plot twists with reference to the historical reference will blow you up...all the best!!!
23:37 when you hear yelling like that, you can easily tell that's Gary Oldman. Whenever I think of Gary Oldman, Sirius Black from Harry Potter, Lord Shen from Kung Fu Panda 2, and Viktor Reznov from Call Of Duty World At War and Black Ops 1 always comes to my mind.
Woods is voiced and mo-capped by my good friend James C Burns. One heck of an amazing actor. I'm so excited for you to play through this game and the others!
It was always nice to have the best parts of COD related to the Soviet Union or Russia/Ukraine where I’m from, which made playing the game more enjoyable. Виктор Резнов - легенда.
Fantastic episode "L.G. always enjoy your commentary. So fun. Have a great day. . . I used to own all these on 'PlayStation 3. The classics are the best.👍🏼
It’s so fun revisiting the older Call of Duty games, though it feels weird to call them old now. I really love Black Ops; it’s up there with Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty 2, and Modern Warfare 2 as my personal favorites. It was also the first game in the series to feature a voiced main character. Previous Call of Duty games focused more on you being a single soldier within an army. You often found yourself part of a squad made up of soldiers with distinct personalities, but you were always mute. Black Ops took a more narrative approach with the main character. this time as part of a Black Ops team instead of your typical soldier like in World at War. Earlier games did let you play as more specialized units, like in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Even Call of Duty: United Offensive (2004) had you playing as the SAS as Sgt. James Doyle going behind enemy lines with smaller teams, while also featuring missions similar to those in World at War. Sgt. James Doyle also returned in Call of Duty 3 apart of the SAS campaign. This is something that's been missing from more recent Call of Duty titles, the lack of large battles involving NPC allies beyond your squad of teammates. There are fewer large-scale battles with allies on both sides, and it feels like it's shifted more toward a squad of four, even the online has moved away from normal soldiers fighting across maps to specialized characters who you can unlock. I'm glad Black Ops 1 (2010) highlighted a mix of smaller squad missions and larger battles with NPCs on both sides falling left and right. We need more of this in the recent games, bring back those allied NPCs!
Call of Duty: United Offensive is so underrated. It was expansion pack to the base Call of Duty but with better level design and major improvements. It's also really difficult and I'd argue it's the hardest Call of Duty game. I'll never forget the B-17 Flying Fortress gunner mission, taking control of gunner roles in a B-17 Flying Fortress was epic.
@@Vaultboy307 Call of Duty: Finest Hour was also great. It served as a side story, letting you experience different perspectives from the main game. You got to see the action from new points of view, like playing through the Battle of Stalingrad, landing by sea in a rowboat. If you looked to the right, you could even see the same troop transport boats you were on during the main story of Call of Duty, with both characters taking part in the same battle and fighting on the same dock landing.
i got hit by such a massive wave of nostalgia when i heard the music at the pentagon, coming home from school and loading up online, creating my charmander and broly emblems
wow you don't even understand the weight of this nostalgia. I was like 10 or 11 when this dropped and was my intro to my favorite COD campaign ever. I didn't have internet so me and my brother would play the story over and over again, only to play split screen multiplayer by ourselves to shake things up. This game started it all and even tho im not a COD fiend I will always give every Black Ops game a try simply because of BO1 and BO2.
Lots of great actors in this! You have Gary Oldman as Reznov, Ice Cube as Bowman, Andrew Divoff as Kravchenko, and Ed Harris as Hudson. If you pay attention, you can hear the Australian accent of Mason's actor Sam Worthington come out on occasion, particularly when he gets emotional and screams. You probably recognize him as the main characters in movies like Avatar and Terminator: Salvation.
Yeah, Bo1 is one of my favourite games in the series. For now, I'll just list the talent involved, including Ed Harris as Hudson, Jace c burns as woods, Ice cube as bowman and my man Sam Worthington as Alex Mason. I know critics don't like him, but for me, he will always be Mason! Joining them also Gary oldman who reprises his role as Victor Reznov. How does this man can do a flawless Russian accent? I have no idea. You should watch the clip from Graham Norton show about this role, it's hilarious.
Wow I didn’t know you could kill the hostage in the first level and continue on, it makes sense given what happens if she lives but still, it’s fun to learn something new about a game I’ve played for so long
1:00:54 that big ass tape recorder is an intel item that can be picked up and unlocks parts of an intelligence report in the main menu about missions and characters! It's a very cool part of this game and you should look out for them and possibly read them at the end of the video!
Glad to see you on this after world at war I just want to point out though. You you should play through black ops 2 first before you get to Cold War or 6 as there are some spoilers especially on 6 that will be there if you don’t and aswell a lot of references or events will go past if you don’t. Also if you do play black ops 2 it also has a similar intro thing like this one when you boot it up so my advice for that is start the recording before handing when you launch it so you can see the cutscene which btw is amazing then do your normal intro in a seperate clip in the main menu after. You’re gonna be in for a ride with black ops 1 and 2. Btw if you noticed I didn’t mention black ops 3 is because it’s pretty much just had very little connection to the other games besides some events and is easily the weakest game in the series
25:08 "Ah you think darkness is your ally? I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man and by then it was nothing to me but blinding."

I played the heck out of this game with my first cousin when it released all the way back in 2010. Can’t wait for you to experience the full campaign and find out the significance of the numbers.
this game is my favorite piece of fiction ever. it was so good it got me into history especially war history at the age of like 9🤣after i beat bo1 i asked my dad if he would watch war movies with me, we watched like every movie under the sun from "saving private ryan" all the way to "deer Hunter" & "Platoon". from then till i got out of high school i don't think i failed history once😂 i quite literally only liked history because of cod black ops
I highly suggest playing the games by release. BlOps 1-BlOps 2 is a continuous storyline whereas Cold War has dramatically different mechanics and feel as well doesn’t tie into the Black Ops storyline.
25:04. Bane: Oh, you think darkness is your ally. You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man. By then, it was nothing to me but blinding. The shadows betray you because they belong to me.
That first mission. When BO first came out, i remember that particular mission caused waves of controversy in South America. It even got to the point where Fidel Castro himself released a statement about it. Mocking both it and America. Something along the lines of "They couldnt kill me in real life, so now they get to do it in a video game". Crazy times 😂😂😂
@airtiger4577 Yes, but it went on news networks across latin america. Us, Mexico, Colombia, Pr, Dr, i saw it on so many networks and soooo many people had opinions on it.
Hello LiteWeight i hope you are having a great Tuesday afternoon ready to watch you begin with the first part of Black Ops today and I hope you will have a very nice🎃Halloween🎃take care and as always thank you my friend.👻☕
Also, after bo1, you have to play bo2 because it is our main characters storyline. Black ops Cold War is canon and a midquel between bo1 and bo2 that adds more to the characters, but it should be played after bo2 for spoiler reasons.
Black Ops 1 was my first Call of Duty. Loved it. I was not a fan of 3. I am enjoying 6 and did love 2 as well. This is of course from mostly a multiplayer COD player.

The main characters in zombies are actually the first ones with in game dialogue in WaW. They used that tech for Mason.
ngl, I am glad BO6 main player does not speak. It is getting tiresome.
@@TheXKL1NEx You're not wrong. I'm guessing when they mentioned Mason they were specifically talking about the campaign mode.
Thanks for telling us what we already know.
Actually, there's talking playable characters in Finest Hour, but talking about the general, yeah Mason is the most popular.
Sam Worthington is the voice actor of Alex Mason. The same man play as Captain Jack Glover in Hacksaw Ridge.
No way 😮
Also plays Sully in Avatar 👌
Oh no kidding! That’s so cool!
And Bowman is Ice Cube!
I didn't realize it until he spoke in Avatar and I was like "wait, MASON!!!?"
Immediately recognize Bowman is voiced by Ice Cube! Never knew he was in a COD game.
Isn’t that so cool??
