What is Oz Comic-Con Homegrown?
You might have noticed the little Homegrown tag on the Oz Comic-Con logo. It’s our little way of saying that while states recover and borders re-open, we expect events to still be the Oz Comic-Con you know and love, but a little more focused on local. Talent, exhibitors, artists and content from within the host State, or within Australia. We want to avoid the disappointment of last-minute cancellations due to potential border restrictions and will be focused on bringing you Film & TV guests who are state based for each of the Oz Comic-Con Homegrown events.
THE DISTRICT
The District is the activity melding pot. It’s a great place to check out if you want to browse our Manga library, have a draw on the scribble wall, learn some origami or take part in our drawing competitions. The District will play host to our cosplay group meet ups throughout the weekend with its photo wall. Stop by and have a play on one of our free-play gaming consoles, or bring your handheld console and chill out for a little while and enjoy some Among Us, Animal Crossing or Pokemon Sword and Shield with other con goers. There’s a little bit of something for everyone in The District.
AEL FREE PLAY GAMING ZONE & ESPORTS TOURNAMENTS
Australian Esports League (AEL) joins forces with leading Australian pop culture convention, Oz Comic-Con!
They are bringing their free play gaming zone and esports tournaments to each show!
AEL recognises the importance of building ‘Grassroots” Esports and Oz Comic-Con is the perfect platform to deliver Esports and gaming to a broader audience as well as connecting to esports fans and players. This partnership will help expand and grow the current AEL programs as well as providing their partners with the opportunity to showcase the latest esports and gaming products, including monitors, headsets and the latest games.
The partnership kicks off with Oz Comic Con Sydney, December 4th and 5th, 2021.
