Wow! This looks very cool, and the mic feature is defo a bonus! I can see me using this whilst skating the coast, but I’d be worried about it either crashing into someone, or losing sight of me altogether and getting itself lost!
When there are other people around, the trick is to just keep going straight ahead. It'll follow right behind you. And so far, I haven't been able to shake it off. Even when I accelerate hard, it seems as if I'm not putting in any effort when I review the drone's footage. That 42km/h top speed makes a big difference compared to its predecessor. Great fun to play with this thing! 🙂
I love the X1 Pro for its quick shots and the ability to change settings without a phone. The beacon and its mic was the reason I bought it. I still use my X1 which has great audio (using the phone) and which is synced as it should be. I am certain ZZR will solve the issues soon.
Yeah, they've assured me that a solution is coming and I trust I won't be losing time anymore with syncing audio and video. As soon as they've fixed that, the Beacon will truly become a game changer for me.
@@CamGoodTimes It really is an awesome lot of fun to use! Suddenly, you’ve got so many new possibilities to film yourself skating and skiboarding. Still can’t quite believe that thing is real.
Thanks for the great video. I am about to unbox mine. And, yes, beacon mic is a key reason I upgraded from x1. We have used our x1 for 100 of our Beer 🍺 Vlogs, but would rather have a beacon mic than breaking out iPhone. That said, your mic seems to be clipping a bunch. Is that a problem you’ve seen with most audio? Let us know. And thanks again. - Eric ZORK Alan & Sweetie [ 🤣Professional🤣Poets & Bed 🛏️ & Beer🍺 Vloggers ]
Thank you! I haven't tried the Beacon yet with the newest firmware update, so I don't know if there's less clipping now. The clipping could be a side effect of the noise reduction I've applied in Davinci Resolve. I'm really no audio expert, so I daren't jump conclusions. I do suspect though the clipping is a combination of me raising my voice in windy conditions and Davinci taking out the wind noise. But the audio of my DJI Osmo Action 4 _isn't_ clipping, so DJI seems to be doing something right that HOVERAir hasn't fixed yet. More tests will follow!
May I know how to do manual control with beacon and joysticks without pressing the button on the drone ? I have to make it take off by pressing the button on the drone, I don't know how to trigger take off with the beacon
@@TheRollingRaptor Sorry, I made a mistake, 0:48 to 0:52 of the TH-cam video, I did not see you press the button on the drone, may be this shot is not shown in the video. Thanks.
@@riccheng2274 Oh yeah, you're right: I did press the button, but that was cut out during editing. (Because: boring.) So you just have to let the drone take off as usual.
Thank you! And yeah, I've seen the complaints on Facebook popping up too. I recorded the first part of this video at the beginning of October and I didn't bother to connect my phone to the Beacon. The reason's quite simple: using a remote isn't very compatible with rollerblading and adding my phone to the mix would be even more of a hassle. That's also why I still haven't tried connecting it to the Beacon. I do hope HOVERAir is working on a solution for people who want to use the Beacon as a remote and their phone as a screen. I understand it's a big letdown when that doesn't work as promised. Hopefully new firmware updates will solve that issue. 😕
I bought the ProMax cycle combo pak , after many updates & firewire updates, is in working condition now! but don't like the video in sunny days to much sun exposure not filter it down & do the adjustment in camera shooting, still needs works & updates
If you go to the preview on your phone, you can adjust both ISO and shutter speed. Unfortunately, those settings are reverted after each flight. I hope they'll eventually allow permanent camera settings.
Erm, do you mean putting the Beacon in a mic muff? That'd make it unusable and clumsy to carry. 😬 😅 My DJI Osmo Action 4 has inbuilt mics too, but there's way less wind noise.
