If God wanted to give us a book of truth, it would be much better, more intelligent and moral than the bible. Is there any specific ideas in the bible that you find particularly insightful? Shakespeare was a much better writer, Newton and Einstein had a much firmer grip on reality, and my mother's moral teachings absolutely put to shame those of leviticus.

There is nothing more arrogant and/or ridiculous than a human being claiming to know what God said or wants. It's insanity of the highest order!
