Ubisoft needs to keep going in this direction. I mean even though Mirage is far from the parkour system unity had the gameplay, level design, heck even the combat I enjoyed, I mean the general reception of this game is pretty decent and that's just cause its not a giant open world rpg.
I'm so confused on how the parkour system here is different to unity, are you talking about unity's stylish sequences? Because here even though it's not as stylish it still gets the job done.

@@glasgowblackchigowski6117 Yea it was a step up compared to the rpg trilogy, however I still notice little things like Basim will slow down before jumping it almost looks like he hesitates on some jumps, unity kinda had a just smooth flow to it, but this game is definitely a huge step in the right direction wit the parkour just the fact there's parkour routes, and cool animations like sliding over a barrier is so dang cool. I hope they keep heading in this direction with their future games.

@@azzor4134 yeah i’m “hoping” but i doubt they wouldn’t build upon the stealth mechanics in mirage. codename red will be stealth focused so long you play as the shinobi, with new mechanics and old ones i’m sure. yes it’s a different team but they have seen the hype for a true return to roots and have they also will have seen that mirage didn’t entirely hit the mark. from a marketing standpoint it would be absolutely braindead to drop all the progress mirage made on a return to roots and not build upon mirages ideas for their own game, like bringing back notoriety and contracts and bureaus and an arsenal of tools. if that was all for nothing and codename red chooses to scrap it and be an odyssey clone i will go back on everything i said but i seriously doubt it.
If they wanted to make Unity again... they would make Unity again. They have the source code, they have the assets. For people (like me) who are hoping they'll eventually transition to Unity styled parkour, they won't. Ubisoft doesn't trust players to spend time learning mechanics, they want to make sure people can master it instantly, no matter how shallow. If you really want Unity's parkour mechanics... go play Unity lol. The graphics hold up even to this day.
true that, they were able to use all the tools in the demo though and unfortunately this is a early contract so you dont have access to any tools but the throwing knife.
nah i was on medium difficulty, so many people including leok rogue has said that the difference in guard detection and overall difficulty is night and day on medium and hard and since hearing that i’ve switched to hard, i’m sure it would be different because on hard this game is genuinely challenging
the issue with parkour imo, is the lack of flashy animations which, thats fine, and the momentum. I refuse to believe there isnt a way for momentum to be tracked and applied to parkour and whatnot

Honestly, this one is good, the parkour seems kinda smooth and the killing blows does a good job. But it seems it needs more refinement, it has the potential to rival the unity's parkour style if this things keeps on going cuz it's still in its development stage. Hope to see more of this
ac red supposedly will have a revamped stealth system with snuffing out torches and things alike even though its gonna be more RPG oriented, its all according to rumors though so take this with a grain of salt. @astrayn
For me the best Parkour is this. There is no non sense velocized jumps or slowed like in rpg trilogy and most importantly is not bugged as fuck like in Unity(yeah unity’s parkour is great but too bugged and with no control of it)
yeah they added the diagonal climb from origins, they added the base jump that everybody loves from unity, that one has been in the other rpg games but nowhere near as consistent as it is in mirage. they took valhallas mid ass system and actually made it look decent, imo thats impressive
this is better than i thought it would be, the facial animations still suck (seriously, Ubi needs to work on those) but the stealth system is great and in my opinion is the third best in the saga, only being surpassed by Syndicate and Unity´s stealth systems

@@Noctuam734Real stealth players don't even crouch in Unity. If you know how to use the gadgets and environment, crouch just slows you down. AC is all about using parkour, social stealth and throwables/ smoke bombs. Not crouching in the leaves like a hobo taking a sh*t
it's the exact same parkour and movement as Valhalla just accelerated. to address the complaint of the sluggish muddy feeling of the movement but it's not enough IMO.
i didn’t have access to smokes, for this mission ubi did an unlock all to make it more cinematic, i just unlocked smokes which is basically all i need to really get creative

At this point, it's hard to find fairness in reviewing something. We have a game that freshen up many stuff from the past like AC1 mission structure, Ezio trilogy notoriety, Industrial era city, and rpg combat. But because it "looks" like Valhalla and nothing like muh Unity, people gonna scoff at it.
i hated valhalla as well but really wanted to like mirage, at first i was put off by the parkour and thought it was janky but just like unity it was a skill issue. i thought origins was decent and this feels a lot more like origins if it was optimized for that classic feel rather than a valhalla dlc ripoff which people are calling it.
TBH man chest looting is not rewarding it's crap actually the combat is not there either. It's strictly made for assassin's play style nothing wrong with that but the treasure rewards could be a lot better
I only played most Acs till Syndicate. Haven't touched the RPG trilogy, this was my first "modern" Ac technically. I had normal hopes since I loved stealth. And after casually playing for like 3 hours a day I guess? I loved it! Sure its not flashy like Unitys parkour or etc. But that "Assassin" feel is back ngl. Its not a top end graphic game no. But I see their efforts here. Ubisoft Bordeaux deserve to make more AC games!
@@edwardmartin4169 Bro the double hidden blade wasn't invented until Leonardo made it in AC 2. So no double assassination option in Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla and Mirage. But imo they should have brought back double assassination in the newer games where the protagonist kills one enemy first with the hidden blade, then quickly dodges the other enemy's attack and kills him
@@Mythical.History there is a chain assassinate that functions like that, even if spotted you can quickly assassinate 2 people with the hidden blade if they are close or throwing knife if far.
The graphics are great, but the AI is dumb as rocks. It doesn't react to kills in front of it unless they are right in front of their nose. Why don't they see kills far far away from their location in broad daylight?
Great gameplay but the game feels so dated, and kinda reminds me of mobile versions with cranked up graphics to some extent, nowhere near to a next gen title ... If somebody told me this game came out in 2014. I wouldnt doubt it
thats the anvil engine for you, the landscapes look gorgeous but anything besides that looks dated, they should've used the engine version from origins instead (mirage was an expansion for valhalla so it wasnt really their choice to make but still)

@@whipwalka Ok to disagree. For my part, I finished Mirage & re-installed Unity where I can't cosplay a cheap, street pimp harassing everyone by whistling for them to come to me from my hiding spot. Baghdad looks good on PS5/4K and it's a good thing that I'm interested in History, because that is a well done part of the game, but the fun just isn't there. It's slow and Basim's parkour runs feel like moving with a 100 Lbs sack of potato on his shoulders. I end-up rolling madly just to move faster & fighting the controller more than the environment.

Brotherhood and Black flag had better stealth than both Unity and Syndicate.

yeah the AI needs some tweaking, but they came out with a patch in less than 24h so maybe we will get some AI updates
