Heya! What's the worst vanilla perfume you've ever smelled? I'd love to try them 😋
As for this particular one, I imagine it would have an absolutely stunning sillage but up close? Hmm...
I smelled Flavia Vanilla 82 Parle Moi de Parfum in 2023 and i must say i does not smell like sweet vanille more like heavy incense combined with vanille.😵💫
I am loving the “worst” types of perfumes 😂 it’s good to see diff types of perfumes that didn’t hit our nose well!! 😅

I looove this scent and I don't always love beast mode....its not your typical vanilla for sure but try it on skin..from 5 minutes in it softens and dry down is delicious!!
I found all those Elizabeth Taylor perfumes....White Diamonds, et al.....those were awful to me.
White Diamonds was my go to scent in my 20s……l have smelled it in almost 30 years.
White Diamonds at night in the black box is really nice ❤
That is why perfume is so subjective

The worst vanilla I have tried so far is that new one by Tom Ford. Vanilla Sex has a weird medicinal note almost like a wintergreen scent which really turned me off. Others appear to like it but it is not for me.
Well “vanilla sex” prior to the perfume being made is kind of an insult. Even of not into kink noone wants “vanilla sex.” Vanilla is considered “boring” when referred to sex so….

I bought a sample first of Vanilla Powder Matiere Premiere and i must say i like it, its only strong on the Palo Santo i wish the vanille was stronger.😊I love your reaction when you smelled it!😅
After watching your video, I instantly thought about Libra from Tiziana Terenzi. Initially, on the first spray, I found it unbearable and had to wash it off before it fully settled.
However, I decided to give it another try this morning before leaving this comment, and surprisingly, I don't mind it now! Perhaps I tested it during the wrong season or simply wasn't in the right mood for it, because it's actually not bad at all!
I often hear people say they hate powdery perfumes. It's not my favorite note, and I guess it's sort of juvenile because of baby powder. I never wore Love's Baby Soft as a kid because of that.
I love Vanilla Powder!

Your description of it makes me want a sample and gives me hope. I love vanilla, but sometimes it's difficult for me to smell it. So, this would be up my alley...lol.

One of the worst scents i have tried has to be 1970 by Rosendo Mateu, oh my gosh it was just awful to me! So many people rave about it as a great chocolate perfume but it made me gag 🤢 x

Lust for sun by Juliette has a gun is supposed to have a coconut vanilla note. On my skin it reads as all cheap gross "tropical" old lady white florals. Despised it so much I had to wash it off my wrist in the mall bathroom after spraying it on at Sephora.
Vanilla Powder was such a weird experience for me!
I had to quarantine the sample in a different room.
But it was one of the first scents that cut through my loss of smell 😅 💥
I thought that house was about natural ?
It is INSANELY synthetic
The best from Matiere Premiere is Parisian Musc, Aurelien Guichard did a great job creating it 😍. French Flower ( tuberose flower fragrance ) is pleasant. But Vanilla Powder has a harsh chemical smell that lingers for many hours, I tried on my skin twice and on my clothes 3 times ( the scent stays on fabric until you wash it ).
The worst for me is Guidance by Amouage. I know everyone loves it but it just smells terrible to me. I’m sorry if you love it.
That one seems to be a love or hate kinda scent :)
Idk.. I try to keep An open mind to fragrance offerings. There are notes that if not done well I find off putting, but hate is such a strong word. Ylang Ylang can be challenging for me.
It seems like you went into the review with preconceived ideas. Because this scent actual dies down quickly and ends up not being that strong. But the opening is very strong. Within 5 minutes it's much closer to skin. At least on skin** Edit to add: and the scent actually changes quite a bit in those few minutes too.

Maybe, if you want to try on skin, spray behind the knees. A friend of mine gets a headache from all perfumes sprayed traditionally, but can wear them sprayed behind her knees!
The worst I've tried were three Navitus samples. I can't stand the Amberwood that was in all three! I know most people love the House, but for me, it was a very unpleasant experience!
Maybe I'll try spraying behind my knees......😂😂😂
I might give that a go to see if that works out better. :D
I had the same reaction.
Super strong.
But then if you do only one spray it really plays with your nose all day.
It grew on me.
My worst perfume is Scandal, the original one😂 I just can’t stand the smell of honey on my skin
To me vanilla powder is a chalky vanilla dry candy. Slightly synthetic just like a coconut sweet named “boule de coco” I had in France as a child. It was a super sweet and dry , a type of hard meringue (mostly sugar) covered with coloured grated coconut, and presented in a cellophane bag. Nothing refined, just dry and overly sweet…
Aqua Allegoria Forte Bosca Vanilla by Guerlain is currently one of the worsts! Vanilla fish i swear to God!

It’s a fruity rose but I find the rose stands out the most. It’s pretty for Spring and Summer
I love this perfume! The notes don’t match what the scent actually smells like but I do love it. 😍

This just gave me a very off putting synthetic note that I could not get with & I love vanillas. I find the house of Matiere Premier offerings to be stellar (bought bottle of Encens Suave) but this missed the mark.
I cant wear any vanilla perfumes.. 😔. Make me feel ill.
I have come to realize that if the majority of people hate a scent, I love it. If the majority of people love a scent, I hate it. THE WORST vanilla scent, which I didn't get any vanilla from, is Ani. I had to scrub that off my skin.

Didn’t try this one, but I have La Vie est belle Soleil Cristal, and it sounds very similar, of course not as strong, but it gives off the same feeling on my skin baking vanillin powder with shredded coconut inside. My man always compliments me on this fragrance, even though this is so easy And not super sophisticated, but quite, unique after the original start of Bergamont and pear very popular opening nowadays. it becomes like a baking powder with shredded coconut fragrance.
Good on you for maintaining an air of professionalism when clearly your eyes were watering. 😂I love me a good vanilla, but.... NO.

So what im getting is its so so strong it causes people to immediately not care for it....
But maybe one tiny spray could be alright.. maybe one spray into the air and then walk through it😂idk but i feel the same about one of Muglers older scents too..

I didn't really like this fragrance when I tried it, but I wouldn't describe it as awful 🧐 Not at all actually, just too powdery for my taste.
There aren't many vanilla forward frags that I don't like but recently I got a sample of Born in Roma Intense and almost immediately I started getting a headache and nausea🤢 Jasmine is one of the few florals that I actually enjoy but it is sooo strong in that one. On a nice note, those who love strong jasmine with a hint of vanilla would probably really enjoy it. It's beast mode too. Took several scrubs and a healthy slather of Nivea lotion (the scent of which seems to overpower most everything lol but not in a bad way) it finally dissipated.
Oh my...that one was too overwhelming for me as well!

Thierry Mugler Alien Absolu (now discontinued) - I know this is not a popular opinion but I find the vanilla in that one to be extremely loud and cloying. I'll never forget the time that I tested it at the mall, just one spray, and I was shocked by how tenacious and strong it was, I literally couldn't scrub it off in the mall bathroom.
Given the reviews I've seen online this appears to be loaded with ambroxan so I'll be staying far away!

It smelled like dried sheets that had pee on them 🥹 but in the drydown I got dior poison vibes
Cherry on top from the house of Rirana to me it was really bad I got like burnt rubber and something chemically and it lingers. Not a hint of cherry to say the least.

The worst vanilla scent I have ever smelled and the worst scent I have ever smelled in general is Montale vanilla cake it smelled absolutely disgusting a metallic, burnt plastic, expired sour almond milk,chemical disaster and it had crazy beastmode projection it was the first scent I have ever returned I will usually try to give things I don’t like to others but I wouldn’t even give that to someone I hate
Gabbi said her favorite was accidental a la vanille. I BB and i swear it smells like butter not vanilla. Ugh. I also am annoyed i bought FB fire at will. I dont like.
Yep! She also loved Cotton Vanille (so I made a very expensive blind buy & yes, that’s on me) but it was super buttery vanilla which I hate! And I’m a vanilla lover through & through but not that kind. So that’s something to keep in mind listening to her reviews-her favorites are the buttery🧈 vanilla variety.
Luckily I haven’t found a vanilla I hate. 😂😂😂 I’ll be sure to steer away from this.

The worst vanilla in my collection is Montaigne Vanilla. It just smells weird.
Mad Potion Katy Perry is a disappointing vanilla - it smells nice but just completely disappears. Cloud Ariana Grande - is a weird, medicinal vanilla. It's not horrible but it reminds me too much of a dental office to enjoy wearing. I've got Casmir Chopard arriving today, I've been meaning to try it for awhile but this has the potential to be either a love or hate for me - hopefully it's a love.
To me, Tom Ford's Blak Orchid. That thing is vomit inducing.

Vanilla powder smells like dirty old dishcloths. Some got on the outside of the decant so I had to put it in a cupboard. I unfortunately bought a 10ml decant. Worst musk ever!! My hysband smelled vanilla cupcake. I smelled death. It amd Babycat are in comp for the worst. I wish companies would specify which chemicap they use as their musk so i can avoid that one like the plague. Theres so many musk scents i like. But whichever that is is horrible to me.

@@DeliciousDelights it's the same musk that's in Erba Pura. I have a notebook of every fragrance I've tried and when I find that musk I just write the dreaded stank 🤣. Sometimes i don't smell it till it dries down.
I swear I can smell mango in Vanilla powder. But like in a sickening way. I don’t like it lol
