As a derby fan it’s great to see Paul as our manager, I was sceptical at first but that quickly changed! He’s very good at everything he does, he speaks from the heart, knowledgeable and has great chemistry with the players and knows what he wants! Liking what he’s doing 👍🏻

The criticism he’s been facing from our fellow fans is absolutely farcical. He’s walked into a football club placed under a 2 year transfer embargo and a squad full of strangers to him after spending 13 years at Rotherham United in various roles. He has done a tremendous job since he’s come in. He’s brought in plenty of spirit, togetherness, and enthusiasm amongst his back room team, training ground staff and playing squad.

@@ramwinter2622 What criticism? The feeling towards him has been 90% positive but people have opinions and nobody that thinks for themselves is going to agree with everything a manager does.

Ipswich fan, good to see Derby is heading in the right direction. Hope to see you in the Championship soon where we both belong.

interviews like this are so refreshing. most football interviews are one robot asking another robot obvious questions (unless youre conte) so its good to hear some honesty and openess

Warney is one of the most fascinating managers I've come across. He's just incredibly honest, open, and at times vulnerable. Through that, he's been able to create cultures that allow people to connect with one another on a unique level - it's been a huge part of the intangibles behind the three promotions with Rotherham. And yet, on the other side of that coin, I kind of want him to believe in himself a bit more as he's way better than he's ever given himself credit for.

Argyle fan here. He seems a top bloke to me. You guys will have to be patient and bare up to the mismanagement of your club. Our similar problems in 2010/2011 saw us drop from the Championship to the absolute rock bottom of league two in no time. We nearly went for good! Pompey the same. You’re nowhere near that low. Look at us now. Top with a host of “bigger” clubs below us. With your resources and fan base you will be back challenging for Prem again. Enjoy the ride and go to grounds you never thought you’d see.

I absolutely love this interview - Paul is soomething of an enigma. Always comes across as 100% truthful and definitely knows his stuff in a very confident way. Without naming names, how refreshing to not hear a stream of "errm, errm, errm" in his responses. Although his favourite stalling response (and we all have them) is "that's a very good question." Gotta love and respect the man. Best we've had in many, many years.

Hoping the EFL looen the strings soon to let this team start to buy some extra players as I think we were treated harshly compared to some other clubs who had points deducted
