- African National Congress (ANC) Gauteng chairperson and Premier, Panyaza Lesufi, has not dismissed the possibility of joining hands with political parties in the opposition to form his executive.

@@gameZA40 Seriously? Local government = municipal. Thus Municipal or Local Elections. This refers to the governing of towns and cities (wards).
National and Provincial elections which took place on the 29th May are not the same as Local government/Municipal elections which elects mayor's, councilors as well as a host of city officials.
If you had any level of understanding you'd know this, but alas, here you are (and assuming that I am as ignorant as you are. Yes, I am an idiot, but in many cases, I am the lesser one.).
This is the elections that generally has Zulus (I'm ½ Zulu ☹️) eliminating one other as they fight for positions on the gravy train.
Thus my original comment: remove the ANC from power in the Local government. We can then force a change in the premiership of the Gauteng legislature as well and teach Lesufi a lesson! Reminder: ANC has 28 seats to the DA's 22. It's a small margin. Gauteng should, by rights, be co-governed by the ANC and DA - the ANC is not in a position to dictate terms to the DA.
I've campaigned unofficially for the DA since the beginning of last year for these elections, I will start immediately for the 2026 Local government elections. We will unseat the ANC. We will remove the Alex Mafia from our province. Lesufi will be brought down. It's inevitable.

ANC should find a way out of the impasse and keep to the original agreement with DA. How come, Panyaza is quickly able to be at advanced stage of negotiations with other small parties when you have NOT exhausted the options, afforded you by DA. Panyaza Lesufi is not negotiating in good faith. The same old styles that ANC have used in deceiving South African with lackluster, unstable coalitions in Jhb, ekurhuleni, and Tshwane. DA supported you in being a premier. Why can't you reach out to DA in relation to other problems? Are you negotiating in good faith, when all of a sudden you claimed to have reached an advanced stage of negotiations with parties that have insignificant electoral base?
The DA still withdrew their original agreement. You must concede that this must have consequences that may not be favourable for the DA. You can't blame the ANC for that.

I don't understand. Lesufi read the document given by the DA, which lead to the election of the premier and the speaker, in accordance with the demands made by the DA. Then DA withdrew the document. I have no reason to believe that the events transpired any other way. As flawed as the ANC is, it is hard for me to see them as some sort of cunning villain in this situation, as you remarkably seem to.
