from Cali moved to Atlanta 15years ago. I love ATL this is home and the best place live so much fun and cultural enrichment. I only miss the beach in LA... My advice give ATL at least 5 years to meet some genuine good people. In corporate environment its refreshing to not always be the only black in a leadership position. Its just awesome to live or see all black high affluent neighborhood with good amenities. name of the waterfall is Roswell mill in downtown Roswell. Everyone experience is different but I highly recommend young black professionals to consider ATL because you really don't get this type of cultural enrichment and opportunities anywhere else. Lastly, pray, Trust God and just be lead by the Holy Spirit.

Thanks for this bro. I’m LA born and raised and but I’ve been yearning for a while for a change of pace. I’m 46, single and my kids are now all grown. I’m a degree’d 6-figure earner and would hope to match that when/if I move. ATL is on the top of my list but for some reason my anxiety is thru the roof regarding leaving everything I know and love. I need to make a decision soon though. Time waits for no man!

The way you speak about faith and god is so uplifting. I’ve been in Atlanta since I was 23. I’m 33 now and I’ve been wanting to move since about 27. I’m looking towards moving back to Florida where I was raised or possibly Texas. I’m not happy here as it’s really hard to make friends when you work at home. I have a small daughter and my intermediate family lives here so I’m scared to move and not have any “breaks” and going out and things of the such. However I feel my unhappiness has overpowered that feelings and I’m ready to act on faith. Thank you for the video. I’m also single and have been for 5+ years will no real prospects here in Atlanta since everyone’s usually looking to have a good time. I’m hoping wherever I choose I can eventually settle down and get married. 🙏🏾❤️

I often tell people the size of Dallas metro is like taking a city larger than Birmingham and moving it 30 miles from Atlanta and building up the area in between. I just turned 45 in May.I live in a 4 bedroom home that is now paid for.I moved in my home in October 2006.The mortgage was originally $1,800.00 a month.I put $30,000.00 down on it and my mortgage became $1,400.00 a month. That was in the fall of 2006.I made my last mortgage payment November 2018.Now I am blessed with a house and two cars that are paid for.I am born and raised in Texas. They have a great job market!Just to be fair you should always have a great education, money saved, money invested, and build to grow towards being established. No it doesn't happen all in one day,and no it's not easy. After all you have to crawl before you walk.I worked my ass off to get to where I am.I honestly didn't think I would be able to have my house paid off before I was 50,but I did. When you are serious and you have and take your dreams, goals, aspirations, and your vision seriously and stay on that grind, you will definitely see a drastic change. If I leave this world today,my adult children will be in a home that is paid for.

Thank you for putting this up. I am from Georgia and see us (black folks) do the "I'm gone come here without a job" in Atlanta and it gets you more potential to be scammed or exploited because you are super desperate. HOWEVER, Atlanta is kind of tough and is FAR more expensive than Dallas and Houston. You have to have enough stability to afford it because now-a-days, the A and its inner ring suburbs are as expensive as Miami today and when you lived there. And it is SUPER competitive (in some sectors they require degrees for absolutely no reason) to get a decent paying and stable job. And I think Atlanta is kind of like a mini-New York or Northeastern city where it is becoming sort of "made"(Dallas and Houston are huge and still have more room to develop) where it is really helpful to have connections with those (mainly black if you are a black person) who are established especially considering how expensive it is becoming. People run to Texas because rent, home prices, and prices of other things are still cheaper than much of the U.S., but especially Atlanta and Miami. And with Big Tech coming in now-a-days, it will become even worse which poses problems from us (black folks) because it can easily price us out. Metro ATL will have you runnin' all around the area to find something affordable now-a-days. It's getting rough considering it's a southern city with jobs that are not union jobs so you can't negotiate wages if you are at a blue collar job. Either way, I think people are still flocking there because they think it is still cheap and that every scene is super accessible (like the film scene and whatnot) when it really isn't anymore.

Originally from Florida lived in Atlanta for 15 yrs and Moved to Dallas Tx in 2019. I'll put it like this if your young and love the party scene and do not mind being a serial dater then Atlanta is definitely the spot for you. If your more chill and looking to make a step up in life with more job opportunities and looking to settle down raise a family etc ... then Dallas is the perfect spot for you. If your moving to Dallas from Atlanta be warned even though the DFW metroplex is bigger than Atlanta it will seem VERY SLOW and country at first. If you ever run into another person from the A here in Texas YOU WILL REMINISCE about the things you did and missed. Location wise Atlanta has the slight advantage because of the short drive to the mountains or the beach if you love the outdoors. Dallas you have the option to go to either Louisiana or Oklahoma for Casino's. And the summer heat in Texas I guarantee you is nothing like you ever experienced in Georgia cause it is HOT AS A MF !!!!! But in return you get a piece of mind and the opportunity to meet some great people who are ready to be settled down. That you won't find in Atlanta or if you do it's a diamond in the haystack. Also Texas has a supercharged housing market which is a great investment to make IF you can get a house right now. Traffic isn't "as" bad in Dallas being it's a more complex highway system here compared to being stuck on I285. There are no state taxes here in Texas but the property taxes are outrageous if your a homeowner. Dallas is also more diverse than Atlanta with a drove of people moving here from Cali. Overall Texas is a cool place but once again I can't stress this enough DO NOT move here if you looking to party like you did in Atlanta because you will be highly disappointed !!!! Deep Ellum is NOTHING like Auburn Ave. I do hate that there is no Publix grocery stores in Texas tho 😔

But I understand that this perspective in this video is based on moving from other places where cost of living is cheaper like Dallas and/or Southern cities, so that would be a lot more an adjustment than someone say like myself moving from CA to ATL.

It great . You won’t have a problem finding a job. You may even be able to transfer to a property in Georgia of your company has a portfolio in GA. They also have staffing property management companies such as BG Multifamily, AAA staffing, and On-site Staffing. Best of luck to you .💛

I am 49 yo & I was not all about the party scene at 28 as well. I am just like you. I love vacations, brunch & enjoy relaxing & cooking at home.
You think the dating life in Atlanta is not great is just the same in NYC. I’m 49 & will continue to be single until the day I go 6 ft under.

You really have me considering Dallas! I’m also 28 living in Atlanta and I don’t think it’s for me 😕 I wish I came here when I was in my early 20’s when I was in a “carefree” state but I need somewhere with better pay that isn’t as saturated.
But yes...dating is trash here Lmaooo. I talk about this all the time.
Thanks for this video! Really enjoyed it 💕

I would recommend Gwinnett or Cobb as it pertains to school systems . They are not close fo Atl but it’s worth it for the education.

I stayed in Atlanta for a few months to get a feel for the city and I liked it and didn’t like it. I moved to Houston not long afterwards and liked it better. But while in Houston I wanted to check out Dallas bc Houston was fast pace and I wanted more opportunities. I believe Dallas has more jobs.

Every state and country have there problems utopia doesn't exist in this world. Sometimes the insect's bits can be a major problem for some people like me that's allergic to everything. We can be dreamers or overly optimistic. Just be ready in all your life experiences to deal with the good and the bad. You must figure out the (bad) you can life with. I life in California. I've had to live in a senior citizen community to lower my rent costs. Which is a huge personal sacrifice because I can't move in family members that aren't seniors, that is actually a blessing, but a hard one for me. But I can live with it.
