I accidentally discovered you can choke enemies unconscious after I finished the game. As far as I remember, it doesn't explicitly tell you there are non-lethal ways to take out guards. Good run. It's very hard not to get caught during these missions. The marksmen spot you from a mile away.
Cool gameplay. I think it is impossible to complete this mission non-lethally without the disguise ability. The only other ability is dropping smoke bombs continuously.

Yes you are right. Smoke wont help too as sometimes mysteriously enemies can detect you through smoke too with their x-ray vision.
