Honestly I feel the way they put these spots in the game, someone was a master at psychology. There are plenty of stones that are sitting by themselves that aren't kooroks, but somehow, even though there is nothing indicating that there is one, no signs whatsoever, and it looks like any of the other hundreds of stones in the game, you pass by and somehow you just know. Lol
I like to imagine this is how the 650 Koroks I never found in BotW must've felt

I wish there was a Korok sage in Tears of the kingdom like how there was one in Wind Waker. It would've been fitting as well.
