Peter Turnley is a renowned American photojournalist and fine-art photographer. He was born in 1955 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and grew up in the United States and Europe. He began his career as a photojournalist in the early 1980s and has since covered many of the world's major news events, including conflicts in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Chechnya, Iraq, Lebanon, and Rwanda, as well as the fall of the Berlin Wall and the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.
Turnley's work has been published in numerous publications, including The New York Times, Newsweek, Harper's Magazine, and National Geographic, and he has received numerous awards for his photography, including the Overseas Press Club Award, the World Press Photo Award, and the Robert Capa Gold Medal from the Overseas Press Club.
In addition to his photojournalism, Turnley is also known for his fine-art photography, which explores the human condition and the beauty of everyday life. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world and is held in many public and private collections.
Peter Turnley is also a renowned teacher of photography, having conducted workshops and seminars in many countries. He has published several books, including "Moments of Revolution," "Parisians," and "McClellan Street," which features photographs he took of his childhood neighborhood in Indiana.

Magnifique Peter Turnley ! Capable de couvrir un théâtre de guerre, comme de saisir le regard d'une femme à la terrasse d'un café parisien ou le sourire de deux amoureux sur le front de mer à La Havane. Le plus grand photographe d'aujourd'hui.
Some incredible images, capturing human emotions under a variety of situations. Those images have a strong impact on me. Very well done indeed.
Play it again without the emotive music, see how differently you feel about the pictures? Most of the pictures stand out without the music but not all. It's interesting how music is used to add gravitas and emotion. It's not really my genre but one can't really deny that he is a good photographer.
