Seconds before Wayu is about to faint and fall off, you can Thanu almost sensing that something bad is gonna happen to Wayu just like when Phai sensed something bad was gonna happen to Thanu. I think Thanu and Wayu are connected to Thanu, it was destiny for Wayu meet Thanu especially after what happened. I don't think Pha is meant to end up with Wayu because he's not his soulmate, the only reason why Wayu even met Pha is because Thanu had to go help Padbok or else it would have been Thanu who would be nursing Wayu.
