Of course it dind't, this scenes is quite well directed, you can see in the takes of the camera and the music which fits perfectly, that's why didn't take out of the show and why you and probably most of us (the ones who were watching the episode) were with a smile that is almost a laugh. I like the way that instead of focusing on making their CGI the most realistic, they made it the most expressive, fun, and unabashedly weird. We focus so much on realism, but this is probably some of the most entertaining CGI I've seen in my life and I wouldn't even want it any more detailed
For a tv show it's ok especially since they don't really have much as long as there is potential and the writing compensates it. Same goes to some indie films as well. But for something like the Flash it's really bad since they already have a huge budget so we should be expecting more from that. 🤦

I still can't decide whether it's SUPPOSED to be laughably bad or the vfx department looked at this and thought it was convincing. Granted, the CGI on this show has NEVER been great. I've always thought this show does practical effects a lot better than visual effects. All the effects kinda feel like they're out of Jim Carrey's The mask, cartoony and stylized instead of hyper detailed and photo real. So when I watched this scene, yes I was ripped out of the show by how ridiculously fake this looked, but then I thought "what would a REALISTIC version of a Michelle Gomez baby gremlin look like?" So maybe it's SUPPOSED to be weird looking? 🤷🏿♂️

The clothing could have wrinkles and cloth simulation instead of looking like Gumby. The motion could have had more time and a better degree of physics. It's as if the schedule was cut in half.
Yeah it's weird cuz the same CGI downgrade happened in Stargirl too, I thought it was just a side effect of the show being aired in the CW (despite still being produced by HBO Max) but when I saw the CGI in this Doom Patrol season, I think many shows got affected by that

Thats what happens when the villains can’t compare to the hero power wise. Jane has 64 ways if getting out of problems. How do you write a character like that? Have her go through a, i’ll be it, a good character journey but she also needs to get her powers taken cuz her, Larry and Vic woulda completely wrecked rouge here. But I allow it, cuz they are going. Through there own little character stuff that actually makes sense and is coherent. The seasons not bad, I kinda called this at the beginning. The team is too strong. The one thing stopping them from always coming out on top is there depression
I love that they gave the cgi a plastic-ish look. Almost like it’s modeled out of clay. It harkens back to the days that they used stop motion in films. It’s still jarring but less so sense it has a bit of a tactile feel to it.
I honestly had seen a lot worse CGI effects, even for a made-for-streaming series. It's still eons better than any of the CW shows. But the CGI kinda has a charm to it that you can't help but somewhat appreciate.
