Joe the tank on the low loader was for storing emulsion for Surface Dressing roads , gets dropped off and the supplier keeps filling it as it's used .

nice edition to the blog Joe. the river in question in ur first part would be river wye. i lived in dove holes for a year in 2000..... errm u should of stayed round the range rover as that used to or maybe still belongs to katy price. only 1 coal fired station left in nottinghamshire Ratcliffe on Soar but thats set to close in september this year. Hopefully catch up with you soon

Another noteworthy feature of Chessy, was the cattle market site you drove past, as you were aluding to the crooked spire, the river is the Wye, and your sat nav is crap, i would have followed the Tideswell Moor road, where you passed the heavy machinery all the way to the A6, left through Dove, keep to the speed limit it is regulary targeted by police, and through Buxton on to the end of Long Hill, or better still Woodhead, pass the butty van on the Chunal, miss the low bridge at Chinley by coming through New Mills, and on to Long Hill from the other end via Whaley Bridge, pop in for a cuppa on the way back, business.
