Since the US has a FPTP system all this "average in polls" is meaningless anyway. It'd make more sense to compare the expected value of delegates or something like that using statistical measures.

I've seen a poll where RFK Jr. is ahead in WA state. I think the debate freaked people the fuck out. Biden doesn't come out to speak that much and when he does, he's usually not debating or under pressure. He's had a lot of bad gaffes in the last few years but to see him actually come out looking worse in a debate against Former President Donkeybrains, it just looks really bad. So the media is trying to backtrack because of public perception and there's a very real chance he could lose against Trump.
